According t'internet - the pitch sizes at Bramall Lane and DVS are similar with BL being just a couple of yards longer

For some reason I assumed that the Lane would be wider and therefore give our wingers more space.

Saying that I can't wait to see Richie B, Menzie, Misi and Tangi on a pitch with some space.

Maybe it's just a bit of an urban myth that DV is narrower - maybe it just looks that way as you're further away?

i would have thought bramall lane would be a lot bigger. must be with being so far from the pitch at don valley that it plays tricks on eyes.

Possibly, but you also get players and coaches commenting on the dimensions. Maybe The Lane has a small pitch too?

DV is definitely shorter and narrower so it can fit in the running track.

Max dimensions for an RL pitch are 100m from goal line to goal line and 60m from touch line to touch line. Anyone know what BL offers?

The DV pitch isn't 100m long. Look at the distance between the 40 and 20 lines.

Never said the DV pitch was 100m.

I meant the BL pitch will be shorter than the 102.4m because we'll need 3-4m each end reducing it to about 94m long.

No the max width is 68m. Used to be 75 yards.

According to the RFL Official Guide, the dimensions are

Bramall Lane Length 88m Width 66m Ingoal 6m

Don Valley Length 90m Width 64.35m Ingoal 5.55m

Minimum depth of the in-goals is 6m so make of that what you will.
