Well this thread has baffled me. 450,000 are very good viewing figures.
Superleague gets around 100,000 per match, some matches getting over 250,000. Football matches get around 300,000 to 700,000.
I picked a week at random for Sky Sports 2. Here are the results;
Figures are in thousands. So SL got 150,000 and 129,000 that week respectively while RU got 116,000.
1. LIVE ROTTERDAM TENNIS (Sun 13:00) 175
2 LIVE SUPER LEAGUE (Fri 19:30) 150
3 LIVE SUPER LEAGUE (Sat 19:30) 129
4 LIVE PREMIERSHIP RUGBY UNION (Sun 16:30) 116
These are the results over on Sky Sports 1 the same day
1 INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL LIVE (Tue 19:30) 542
2 LIVE FOOTBALL LEAGUE (Mon 19:30) 413
Whats so bad about those viewing figures? I think a sport like Rugby League beating Rugby Union, a much more widely known sport around the UK and Ireland is frankly a fantasic achivement.
These were the figures the week after
