Thats one slice of luck, but I was on about the time a club got into such deep financial doo doo that they were forced to drop down a division and so a bunch of utter failures destined for championship one literally went cap in hand to the people they trust the least and meakly and shamefully begged to be reinstated into the second tier.One win mid way into the season and all of a sudden this humiliated bunch of numbskulls think they're credible.

I think Leigh have turned the corner. They are looking like a lean mean fighting machine. I think they are now my second favourite team behind Halifax. Widnes are going to have to pull their socks up to get that second place back as they have dropped right off the boil. They're going to limp into Super League at this rate and that can't be good preparation. Pull yer finger out Cullen & O'Connor!!

Indeed. Can't wait till they get the leg-up to Super League then i can "come out" and legitimately support them in the big league as there will be no conflict wiv the Fax. there was also the draw against barrow, our victory in france with players beyond knackered, denying sheffield a bonus point with 12 v 14. We also have the best coach in this division and best half back pairing. Oh, then there is our tremendous defence. One win against halifax indeed...

Leigh are having a cracking season no doubt, but no side bar really Fev as they are battering everyone can claim to be great in every department!

mitchell and mccarthy are good enough for sl and if wire get injuries that could affect us but i dont think their plans include blythe because i think they have enough centres and i also dont think saints are interested in emmit ( at least i hope not)

what department are we lacking in?

The answer to that question will come the back end of the season, same with Fev IMO.

Webster & Thacks, Black & Branighan, Finn & Briggs, Coyle & Rooney... some pretty decent halfs all around in the division tbh!

Widnes have the best half backs in the division, Fax have the best Hookers in the division.

Not sure about widnes having the best half backs. Not saying your wrong but think there are several other teams who would/could disagree. Agree 'Fax have the best hookers. Leighs biggest strength is our pack. From 8-13 (plus props and Duffy on the bench) i'd argue we are stronger than anyone else in the league.

At the end of the day, it doesn't come down to who has the best full back/half backs/hookers/pack. It comes down to a squad of players who can play for each other and compliment the team well throughout the season and pick up results.

Note the key word squad. There will be times when our main men Paul/Duffy/Donlan or the dual loan lads or part of our powerful pack are missing etc may not able to play but i'm confident and we at Leigh have a squad good enough to cover the key positions with players who can step up and pick up results. Currently Widnes are doing well in their dire circumstances, especially losing Farrell who was a key figure for you before going back to Wigan but this month will be a test, facing us and Fev in the league and obviously the big cup game too, if you pick anything up from those three games then I think your team and management deserve some praise.

VKM you state Halifax have the best hookers in the league, Duffy and McConnell ran the show against them, tore them to pieces in fact. You state Widnes have the best half backs in the league, from what i've seen of Widnes, individually they are two very good players and have won you games on their own but they don't seem to be able to link up as efficiently as how Ridyard and Paul do. I suppose it's all down to a matter of opinion who is better than who.

I would go along with most of that, i dont think anyone is as dangerous as Thackeray in this division and his ability to make breaks is second to none. Webster is the perfect foil for him, a thinker and someone to boss the team around the park.
