Agree about Houghton.

Very surprised Atkins isn't in either squad, best SL centre at the moment IMO.

McIlorum has had a truly fantastic start to the season, arguably our best player so far. Definitely deserves a call up.

Still no idea how Bailey gets in though.

Roby and Henderson are by far the top 2 English hookers. McIlorum by all acounts has been awesome for Wigan this year so it must have been a close call between him and Houghton.

As said this biggest surprise is no Atkins. Great to see Mossop in there, always impressed with him.

He's out injured for the next 3 months, kinda makes it hard for him to play.





Atkins deserves to be in the Elite squad. He had a poor 4 Nations a couple of seasons back, but that shouldn't take him out of the reckoning - he's been fantastic for Warrington over the past year.

Tough for Houghton to miss out, but he has strong competition in Roby, Henderson and McIllorum. If he cracks on though and keeps putting in great performances then there's nothing to stop him securing himself a place in the Elite squad for the October matches or next season.

Briscoe and Yeaman both deserve to keep their spots in the Elite.

Hardaker has talent, no doubt, but should be in the Knights squad rather than the Elite. I would have had Ratchford in the Elite squad in his place. Able to play anywhere across the backs to a good standard and would be my choice to play FB if Tomkins ever gets injured.

Henderson was born in England but has played for Scotland in the past. His parents are Scottish. He moved to Australia when he was a kid/in his teens, too.

another point, I can see Charnley possibly in for Briscoe depending on how both play at their clubs, like a few others have said Briscoe is a bit 4th gear at the minute. Whether it's just 4N lag or he doesn't want to be at hull I don't know.

Well if Briscoe wants out he'll have a long wait. Aussie clubs don't pay transfer fees, and certainly not for a winger. There's no way AP will let him go early for free

Yeah I know that but if he's not happy he won't be playing at the top of his game, and Charnley is really on the way up imo.

Interesting to see that the second England v Exiles game is 48 hours before we play Leeds at Headingley.

Not sure on his performances so far if Briscoe will get the nod, very average defensively positioning wise. Disappointed for Houghton though

Charnley is a good finisher but never really does much in terms off helping the forwards out when on the back foot etc.

Maybe because he is a turnstyle and not international class....last time he played,he got shown up big style.

I agree with you but we wouldn't have majority of the players in the squad if we don't pick players that have been shown up

Stats are a waste of time as those carries can be 30 yards away from the opposition line and thats not what im saying as we all know he's great from that far out.

Id play Charnley over Briscoe who on this seasons form needs dropping from the elite squad and never did anything in the world cup either
