Had the pleaseure of being in the 1873 hospitality restaraunt yesterday and could not help notice the positive vibe about the club, James Elston and the players that spoke in there came accross really well and it got me thinking.

In this modern world of spin & PR we all need to turn in to our clubs very own PR machine by spreading the word about all the good things that are going on at the club now on and off the pitch and why we 100% deserve a franchise.

We need to bombard all the media newspapers, letters pages, including Facebook, Twitter ect with letters/comments/stories ect about what great things are going on and why we are and should continue to be a Super League club.

Bring as many people to games as possible, the crowds have been great so far but imagine the massive positive image we could send out ,at a time when the RFL are making the big decesion, by getting a massive crowd for the next league home game against Catalans (normally a poor crowd) at the end of the month.

Great piece from James Elston in the League Express today that comes accross with the right message that we are a Super League Club and derserve a franchise, this is the message we all need to give to anyone who will listen. Andrew Glover and his team have come in and given us a fresh start lets back him and show him what we can do, i really believe if we get a license this time we can be a real force in Super Leage under AG.

The saying "Together we are stronger" has never been more apt, our young guns on the pitch are showing true Wakey spirit lets show them what OUR club means to us fans and make it impossible for the RFL to kick us out.

The fat lady might be warming up her vocals but there is still time for us to stop her singing.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the club has made vast improvements and we should be shouting about it!!!!

Don't think that is a worry - by far and away the biggest improvement at the club so far has been the PR which is up there with the best.

We still need to convert SKY's team though. Should be easy for a AG. Stevo and especially eddie are self important little men who are both impressed by fine word and shiny things!
Next SKY home game let's make a real fuss of them both. Maybe a pre match presentation where we can get across that not only Cas have a stream of talented youngsters and perhaps get through Eddies thick head that Griffin is signed and not on loan as far as I'm aware. Maybe then a signed shirts, a few bottles of champers as a gift and a slap up meal. Big update on the ground in the presentation. Maybe a printed mission statement etc.

You get them two if not on your side or at least off your back you're quids in, because sadly they do have some clout when it comes to perceived opinion. Lets kiss ass.

It sticks in the craw, but I think vastman is dead right on this one; we may not like it, but Waldorf and Statler do influence opinions and the way we're perceived by the rest of the RL world - and as we all know, perception is reality.

It would do no harm at all to woo the Sky team in the coming days, so that next time we're featured on Boots n' All, Sky News or as a televised match, they know enough about the positive things happening at the club to highlight them. Wouldn't it be a refreshing change, if instead of focussing on old news (off-field troubles) or unfair speculation (favourites for the chop), they talked about our fantastic community work, our young English squad or the state of the art community sporting facilities we'll be a part of delivering to the WMDC in 2013?

I'd take it further and organise a media day. Get Neil Fox, Sir Rodney and any other worthies attached to the club to show up, invite Sky and as many other RL writers, opinion makers and influencers as possible, wine them, dine them and go all out to show them that WTW is a very different animal to the one they knew last season.

I don't think Snowie I know. Eddie in particular is a self important little man who sees himself as a sage of RL. What he craves is attention or as he sees it respect - give him that and his sort are putty. I bet your bottom dollar that's what tricky does at Cas. Eddie and Stevo seem awfully well informed when it comes to Cas alleged brilliant youth system. I do know bullsh*tting is Tricky's thing.

Let's put it another way, it can't hurt and in reality regardless of who the media figures are it's how you should treat them no matter how wallyish they are.

Either that or he's the RFL mouthpiece, ok he comes across as a bit of a tool, but how much do we here first hand through sky's village idiots rather than the RFL and how many people believe what they see on TV? the answer to both is quite a lot.
Sometimes it seems as though sky are just testing the water and then the RFL follow it up.
Where we should all be in accord is, that it can't harm trying, and that as Merlin's OP points out, is where we are all needed.
How about some nice big banners backing our cause for the next televised game?

Feel free to do a feature the next time your in town and gage opinions of both home and away fans for every away fan I have spoke whilst in Wakefield are of the same opinion that if we go down it will be a loss to Super league.
