| When they started sponsoring us in the middle of the 05/06 season (the great escape season) we apparantly had alot better offer from someone else But they wouldn't have continued to sponsor us if we got relegated but Eric France would have continued the sponsorship if we had gone down, so been in a precarious position at the time we choose Eric France. Don't know how true that is and don't know how long the deal was for.

| He also offered £100 to the club per season ticket sold before the end of the season. I think not many of us took it up.
For the record I did, but I was going to be watching Trin the following season regardless.

| I know its easier said than done, but just wondering whether there is a better deal out there somewhere for us (cash flow is obviously a major issue for us so a more lucrative sponsorship deal might be of great benefit).
Coca Cola have a large plant in Wakey and don't sponsor the FL anymore, so clearly have some money in their budget for sponsorship - a lucrative deal for us would be a drop in the ocean for them- perhaps the club should get in touch.
Cas seem to have tied up a new sponsorship deal due to be announced in Sept that their fans claim is a big deal - just think its something we need to look at as well

I know the club have contacted Coca Cola before but they were not interested in sponsoring individual sports clubs. It's just not something they do. I have wondered if they would be prepared to sponsor the new stadium and community facilities as it would be a larger project and not tied to an individual club.

I don't no if we tried Coca Cola for sponsorship over the years but they did an advertising campagn not so long ago titled MADE IN WAKEFIELD so they're proud of that fact, so they should be encouraged to sponsor Wakeflields only pro sports club.

| They sponsor competitions not teams. TBF they could sponsor just about every sporting team in the world if they wanted to.

A little bit inaccurate there. They sponsor Bolivar (Bolivian Football team from La Paz) and have sponsored Boca Juniors!! Can not believe you did not know that!!

| I personally believe we have to stay with Eric France because regardless as to whether we get a franchise or not they will stick around and some major company wont. This means that if we turn our back on Eric France then we may struggle for a main sponser because i don't think Eric France will be too happy if we go crawling back asking for sponsership.

| Be careful what you wish for; 99% of businesses wouldn't touch WTW with a barge pole at present, so we are hardly in a position to turn our noses up at Eric France; it's a local firm, they have an interest in the sport AND the team - we won't do better than that for the forseeable future in my opinion.

If rumours are to be belived it is going to be the mother of all sponsorship deals but as i said that is if rumours are to be belived.

| It doesn't matter who sponsors you it's how much they'll pay. Being a big company doesn't mean they'll pay more.

they were also title sponsor of the embassy racing teams both bikes and cars and pulled the plug instantly leaving the motorbike team to try to fund the money for the last meeting of the season from elsewhere !! hope we get the full money up front from that family !

Depends how much they are paying us for the sponsorship. Plus a bigger firm is good for image and there is less chance of a bigger firm not having the cash to fund the sponsorship deal (if times become hard for Eric France, I would suspect the first thing they would do is not pay the sponsorship to us)

Mothercare it is then. Unless rumours are true, and it's even more motheringly mother-mongous than that.

No arguments with that - I suppose what I'm saying though is that I can't imagine that big name, high profile companies are lining up to sponsor WTW at the moment, what with all the on and off-field uncertainty.

Fair point mate.
Part of the reason I asked if anyone knew what it was worth was to see just how good a deal it was from our point of view.
