| Wouldn't risk Finch or Prescott if they aren't fit. At this stage I don't think "dropping" players who underperformed last week is going to do us much good. We need a bit of continuity til the end of the season. Those players have to put last weeks wrongs right. Players like Mossop, Hansen, McIlorum, Smith and Finch if he plays need big games.

| No need to "rest" anybody unless they are not fit to play. They have the Wembley weekend off and we need to win the Salford game.

| I don't think there's any point in risking Pat until he's played at least 80 minutes for the under 20's. The last thing we want is for him to be brought back too soon. I also think it would be a little harsh on Thornley for him to lose his place. He's been going alright and actually did well against Wire when the rest of the team was falling apart.
We definitely need to win this game, preferably by a comfortable margin because anything less and there will be a few more doubts creeping in.
A few players have looked like they needed a rest but I can see Wane going for a full strength side with a break coming up. Carmont and McIlorum in particular could do with being given some time off before the playoffs.
If he's willing to drop players then Mossop would be lucky to keep his place. I know we need consistency but it's also important to keep players on their feet and not reward those who don't play well. In Mossop's case, he's had two of his worst games for Wigan in the two most recent big games and that's not enough.
Hughes deserves more game time in my opinion. If we still have injuries come the playoffs then he may need to play in some big games so it makes sense to give him as many opportunities as possible when he's going well.
Flower could also do with getting a few games under his belt along with Prescott. They need to build up match fitness, particularly Prescott so props of Lima, Lauaki, Flower and Prescott could be worth a go.

| It's hard to say as we don't know who's carrying knocks but looking at Saturday you'd hope a few must have been. I thought Hansen looked very tentative going into contact which isn't like him at all so i'm guessing he wasn't right and i'd look at giving him the week off. Other then that full strength with Richards coming back in for me. He may as well get miles in his legs in winnable first team games rather then at u20's level.

| I wouldn't drop or rest anyone, if fully fit...but at this stage of the season, fitness is a relative term - everyone's carrying knocks of some sort that would benefit from a couple of weeks off. At what point does "not fully fit" become serious enough not to risk them? The risk was taken, and failed, with Finch, and perhaps a few others.
Much might depend on how Stu & Pat come through tomorrow. One or both of them might benefit from a run out against Salford...

| When we play Salford it will have been nine days since the Wire game.
Any minor knocks should have been sorted and players recovering will have plenty time.
Waney should play his best 17. He will know who's fit to play and those who aren't.
We need to win the last three games to gain the LLS starting with Salford.

I agree.
Played back the wire game and Mossop was standing around 'like one of Lewises' instead of tackling.
Has great potential Mossop but needs to 'pull his finger out'.

| With Prescott, Flower and Fielden all expected to play for the under 20's tonight it seems like there won't be many changes for the game against Salford, with Mossop, Lauaki and Lima pretty certain to play. The question is will Crosby take that 4th place (he's looking at a ban but I think Championship disciplinary proceedings tend to be delayed compared to SL) or will those three props be playing for a place in the team on Monday?

| Dragons are leaving Soward on the bench, would be nice to get him over here early, especially as they're not going to make the top eight in Oz this time.

He was pretty ineffective coming of the bench against the Tigers last week but the game was played in terrible conditions. Reading his body language he certainly seemed to care a lot about the result and still has a lot of passion playing for the Dragons, I believe he's prepared to fight for his starting position back. The signing of Blake Green has definitely ruled out a Soward transfer for me.

| Will he be tempted to put Thornley on the bench to cover Paddy or would he move Carmont onto the wing with Hughes at centre?

| Gelling on the bench for me. He can come on at SR if Pat doesn't need replacing.
