| This is where Saints wont the game against Leeds and Warrington. If we can improve our defence and attack like the first half against Salford we will win. Saints came out all guns blazing in their last two games and shocked both teams so its upto Wane to get their minds into what's gonna be in my opinion the hardest first 20 mins of the season.
Be interesting to see both the squads for Friday!! Will we have Mossop fit and 100% at that.

| A decent completion rate and ability to tackle from Wigan, something Leeds and Wire both failed to do, will ensure Saints don't overrun us.
I'm always optimistic and once again believe we'll win this game.

| This isn't the bludgeoning in the first 20 that Wigan adopted in 2010. It is poor defense from two very poor teams (this season).
Low completion
Errors
Poor Tackling
Gifting Position
All conspired against Leeds and Warrington

| I think we should be going to Saints with a fair amount of confidence.
They are unlikely to steamroller our pack (especially if Mossop plays, he normally gets the better of the Saints pack).
Saints will be desperate to win the first derby at the Trailer Park. Too desperate IMO. The fear of losing the first derby, having lost the last one at KR will be a little too much pressure for the Scousers.
That and the harder game they've had this weekend makes us very narrow favourites for this one. I expect it to be close and reasonably high-scoring, but as it's a derby, anything can happen.
And one thing we can agree on with our pals from Merseyside - this is THE derby of British RL. Saints' resurgence has added an extra dimension to what was always going to be a massive and historic game. What a prospect we have in store on Friday. The atmosphere will be electric. I just hope the roof stays on...
I can't wait to see whether Wigan's historic success at KR is going to continue in the TP era.

| I wouldn't say it is in the first 20 mins where it could be won or lost I think it could be earlier than that! If we kick off we will need to ensure there are no penalties what so ever in the very first set. If we give away a simple penalty for offside, or a high shot this will be enough to give the Stains enough chance to make easy yards and start getting a full head of steam, which will put us on the back foot. If I were Wane I would drum it into the players heads for this week if they think they are offside do not attempt to make a tackle as there will be somebody there to make it for you.
When SOL goes for the coin toss if we won choose to recieve the ball, this will help prevent the above and we may get the penalty. As long as Prescott doesn't do a lose carry.
I would also get them running at James Roby, admittidly he is a machine but sooner or later he will tire and he will be less effective in attack. Which will give us the upper hand any way.
Other than that I am looking forward to this match.

If we are a fragile as you suggest, which we are not, its hardly worth turning up. You even give a scenario for failure if we recieve, your favoured option.

Just stating Stains got a very early roll on in both of their matches and trying to minimise this.

Mmm, I wouldn't say that's necessarily true. We creamed Leeds throughout the 80 minutes, really.
The Warrington game, we took advantage of their terrible completion rate in the first half. They sorted that out in the second half, which was when they looked better.

| I don't expect us to win. In fact I feel we've played our best rugby over the last two games. I think that Leeds and Wire let us win and I cant see Wigan doing the same on Friday!

| The Saints forwards got the better of the Leeds and Warrington pack. I dont think they will get the better of Lima and a fit Mossop. Hock will want to prove a point this season, which i think he is.
Cant wait for the game.
