It wasn't a request for information, more a general observation on the seemingly inept procurement of playing staff. But the question remains.

I can't remember the last time I was filled with such a lethargic state of expectation pre season.

Davies- Flower
Gleeson- Joel Tomkins
Deacon- Mellor/Powell/L Tomkins

Thats how it looked but now Joel looks likely to leave so he may be replaced by Goulding or Roberts or according to the League Weekly a new centre from the NRL with any luck.

Overall we're no weaker imo and if guys like Mellor show what they can do we'll be stronger.

Looking forward to the club progressing in 2012.

You've missed out Epalahame Lauaki. Hock is no replacement for Hoffman and Mellor, Powell etc are no replacement for deacon, yet.

We're desperately short of a centre and Carmont is another year older. I would say we are weaker overall but if players like Mossop, McIllorum, Tomkins, Charnley are on stepped contracts, then they will be taking up more of the cap. Hopefully if Tomkins leaves we can spend that on a decent centre. I don't expect a signing the calibre of Renouf/Miles/Lyon etc, but a natural centre would benefit us massively.

Fielden is already in our squad in case you hadn't realised.

We do seem to have lost some decent players, and only a forward recruited that hasn't really 'set the world alight'.

1 thing is for sure very few of our real rivals will improve in terms of recruits due to the market.

As it stands all the top clubs are weaker on paper than last year......as it stands.

It certainly is the silly season.

Even though it's more or less common knowledge that the club is currently fighting to hang onto its prize assets (and the 'increment' factor has given them a bit of power in their corner), there are still some terrace mules who are going ballistic because we haven't unveiled Billly Slater and Cameron Smith as our next recruits.

When it's finally announced that Joel has gone, I confidently expect the retrun of 'Red Hot Jalapeno' with a cry of: "See - you blind fools - I told you all along that IL was crap! The Grand Final, the Challenge Cup, the bank balance, the junior all-stars - pure fluke!"

Is it inept because you haven't been given said information? The signings have been completed. They will be announced in due course. Now once again, relax sunshine.

I'm sure IL and SW have spotted we need to strengthen, and we really need to sign a centre in particular, but we are a way off the start of the 2012 season.
