| Nobody knows with this bunch of players but i'm not confident we'll get on a run tbh.
We don't look good enough at the moment to do our usual and have a late season surge.
I can't see us winning more then 3 or 4 tbh and i'd guess they'd be Catalans(h), Cas(a) and Hull(h). I also think our bigheads might turn up for the Leeds home game and at least push them close.
If we win more then 4 i'll be stunned.

Again like Nicky Kiss said it's impossible to tell with this team what they are going to do. Either way it’s not an easy run in.
I Guess all the people who came on here saying the early rounds don’t matter as the season is won at the end are going to be eating humble pie? The home losses against teams like Wakey, Hudds, Castleford have MASSIVLY COST US. Those games were just as important as the ones we are facing now as if we could have recorded a few more victories early on we wouldn’t have been facing the daunting prospect of going to the teams who beat us at home needing a win.
I'm not a fan of Noble in anyway but lets all hope he can again get his team to do something towards the end of the season. I'm not living in much hope tho.
As a side note one thing i hope happens is that Tomkins plays for the rest of the season and isn't given another rest.
This will be his third week now without playing and i'm sure he can do a ten game stretch in the first team either starting or on the bench. We need Sam to play for the rest of the season no if’s or buts about it for me.

As a fan i obviously want us to win the games that are left but even if we do it'll leave me with a massive sense of frustration yet again that this group of players can only turn it on when it comes to the business end of the season and yet again don't look interested in the bread and butter weekly rounds.
To be fair a shocking run near the end of this season may well be the best thing for us as it may prove to a few of these losers that they can't just keep turning up for the last 12 weeks of the season.

| I can see 2 or 3 wins, I'm not fooling myself anymore. We may scrape 8th, win 2 play off games and get to the finla elimanator, and paper over the cracks and think we have a good team. Meanwhile Saints will lose the GF and will technically only finish one place better then us.
The moral is: the playoffs are a joke.

| We could win 7 or 8, or we could win none.
Sad thing is, I'm not bothered either way.
Apart from the Challenege Cup I really don't care how we do.

It's a sad state of affairs when every single Wigan fan on this board and beyond would take six wins out of the last ten at this stage. There are many who would snatch your hand of for five or even four wins.
Have we have become so accustomed to mediocrity that a 50/50 win loss ratio is classed as the best we can hope for?
Do you think John Monie would have accepted that? or Grahame Lowe, Westy, Sean Edwards, Mike Gregory, Ellery Hanley? No, not in a million years.
If ever there was a wake up call this is it. We are strong at reserve levels, no question about that - But we are desperately in need of a clearout of the deadwood at the top, I could name names but everyone knows who they are and the sooner we get shut of half a dozen wasters the better.
Even if we went on to win 80% of our last remaining games I couldn't accept the fact that certain players have stepped over the white line so far this season putting in less than 100%

| Like many others does it really matter. Just say for stupidity we qualified and went on to the GF has this been a sucess or what.
I really am pretty fed up and echo many sentiments. I thought when I started watching Wigan now over 20 years ago that every game mattered, because it does to the fans. However that is obviously not the case with our on holiday players(what planet am I on here?). Too many are here on holiday already.
We won't go into the Wigan v overseas players but lets hope our next coach understands that Wigan is not like Bradford or any other club and we showed this in the Great Escape season, when the chips are down we will fight anybody and everbody provided they give 100% and beieve in Wigan. Crowds increased where else would this have happened?
The last 3 seasons have been awful and we are now playing about 1 in every 5 games just look at the last 2, 22 points up after 15 minutes against Salford and then in the next 80 + 65 minutes manage to score only 4 trys against the bottom 2 clubs who then score 5 against us. I think this is right.
Just hope we get someone who can make the players play at least 3out of 4 better still every match.

I'd probably look at giving them another week off at some point if we can(Challenge cup final weekend maybe) so they can go on another holiday and re-charge the batteries before the end of season doooo..........................it's a long while to wait for a break for the poor lads till October

| I know Wigan have been ridiculously inconsistent this season - even by the last few years standards but i don't think the dramatic levels of doom and gloom on here are 100% warrented
Let me just make clear that i mean that based on this season alone - i know you all want to be were you where in the early 90's, and why not, christ every rugby fan wants their team to be like that Wigan side!
What i mean is there shouldn't have been mass expectation of a return to dominance for this season based on:
1. The team only really performed in the play offs in 2008 (performed pretty well it has to be said)
2. You have lost star man and lynchpin Barrett, who has never been replaced (Tomkins is / will be a gem but it was always too early to go with him all year)
3. Other signings for 2009 were hardly earth shattering merely like for like replacements
4. Noble was still in the hot seat.
Any honest Wigan fan who thought this year would be back to anything like the glory days was in dreamland.
Getting shut of BS Brian and removing the contracted players who have been under-performing is a slow process in the days of the SC, you can't just sack them and pay them off which would have given you a faster turnaround.
This season while naggingly frustrating:
1. A couple of results / performances have shown that the core of a very good team is there for all to see.
2. The introduction of Ainscough & Tomkins which has been on the whole hugely positive
3. Hock and O'Loughlin showing they need to be signed up for life as they appear to have old school Wigan mentality.
4. On its day your best 13 can beat anyone - (which can't be said of some of the others in the top
Of your last 10 games i would expect at least 5 or 6 wins but 7 or 8 wouldn't shock me and I wouldn't be surprised to see Wigan at Wembley & make the third week of the play offs again.
I know you have endured this for the last 2 or 3 seasons but as mentioned before in the cap era changes are much slower, a player on £x per year isn't going to sign for another club on £x less 20% just because Wigan want rid
While this isn't "good enough" long term, it would not be a terrible season given the less than glowing prospects in February and after the first 5 or 6 games, its also not a bad place to start from for 2010 IF changes are planned from the top down (which does look to be the case) and the life it breathes into Wigan will make a huge difference going forward in to 2010.
