Tony Smith needs to sort out his own players tackling technique, sore loser, Wigan appear to be getting a lot of people jealous, MM has kept his opinions to himself under extreme pressure for nearly 2 seasons, well done to him.

I think the issue here is that the RFL, in typically amateurish fashion, havent explained fully what the rule is. I think they fully intended to mean when the player attacks the side of the knee, whether held or not this should be punished as it is dangerous, but hitting the front or back of the leg (not knee) should be fine eg. the one Lima got banned for against Leeds was not dangerous and I know as Ive had it done to myself many times and always got up straight away though I admit when your leg bends round it can be a little painful but its clumsiness and not agression and above all should not come with a ban.

What the RFL needs is clarity once they can clearly explain every rule then they will be able to have a consistent disciplinary and I think there needs to be a representative from every single team on the panel. I realise thats a lot of effort but it eliminates the unfairness as most of the time they have a link to Leeds and thats probably why Leeds players always get off with a lot worse than any Wigan or Saints player would.

As for Coley, he got binned at Leeds for not being able to defy the laws of physics and stop himself in mid-air before merely touching the kicker within a split-second of the ball being kicked.

Look all I know is that whenever I've been tackled 3 men one round the leg (you know like you're taught as early as like 7) then its never hurt unless they hit the knee which, if you read my post, you'll see I already disagreed with anyway as I do believe that hitting knees is dangerous. I also agree that if theyre held (as in fully not moving and the ref has shouted held) then its against the rules but as long as the ref hasnt said held then in my opinion its fair game to tackle the legs and stop the man moving forward its done to Wigan by every team in the league do we complain? NO because Wigan fans dont have some stupid agenda against Wigan that every other team's fans has against Wigan and seem to miss the fact that their own team does the exact same thing that they're having a go about Wigan doing. Eg what we got moaned at for last year that Hetherington kept coming out in the press moaning about Leeds were doing by the end of the season (not as well clearly) and did anyone kick off about it from Wigan? No because we, like everyone with any real Rugby League knowledge, know it was completely legal. If it was so bad and was going to cause injuries and ruin the sport then why did every other team try and copy it? Because they were only really moaning because theyd been caught napping. On the subject of Leeds how can any Leeds fan ever moan about Wigan doing a "dangerous tackling technique" when Smith did all those in our last match and is doing chicken wings week in week out? Clearly deliberate too you cant accidentally lift someones arm around their back. You can accidentally hit a knee when aiming for a thigh or whatever.

I don`t for one minute think Tomkins deserved to be knocked out in fact I think he is a class player and if he can take the "im going to milk a penalty" out of his game he would be better thought of by opposing teams. I actually think he has a similar style to Iestyn Harris in his prime.
But I think you are off the mark to think it is Leeds who cheat to win games.

If you've noticed, referees are extremely reluctant to give a penalty to Wigan if he's the one being tackled.
You could even hear the referee saying at one point in a recent home televised game (I forget which) "its your fault Sam" when the players were slow getting out of the tackle when you could see he hadn't trapped the arms or anything like that.
I think theres been maybe one or two penalties recently that he has been given, so how is he "milking penalities"?

Couple of seasons ago, Hudds used "questionable" techniques, but were relatively unsuccessful in league and cup.

Wigan use "questionable" techniques and ARE successful... UPROAR!!!!

It's all down to the dislike of Wigan by other clubs and their fans because they are just also-rans in the great scheme of things. After years of bad management, and a lack of quality players coming through, Wigan are back competing, and other clubs and their fans are running scared because they know that we can call on support and passion they can only dream of.
