Brilliant......reinforce the belief that we are a Union hating bunch of bitter northerners with massive chips on our shoulders......keep up the good work
OK....Joking aside, I would buy Quins RL. I would put aside £1,000,000 a year for 5 years, 50/50 split on players wages and promotional activity. I would expect the entire 5 years to cost no more than £7,000,000 and believe that the club should be near self sufficiency at the end of it.
I would set targets for both the Business and the Club.
Business targets would include:
5k average with at least 1 x 5 figure gate a season. The marketing team would be allocated a budget of appx £30k a game to achieve this.
30% of ALL corporate hospitality sold. 1 free box for 1 game given to every local company with 500+ employees
All merchandise to be available in the shop and on-line by December 1st
Donation of (with the club as sponsors) Playing Kit to every age group team in the SE and all amateur clubs. Puma (or whomever we use) would/should/may subsidise this to gain market share/brand awareness.
Re-introduction of free ST's for all registered players in the SE.
Free Shuttle Bus service (4 per game) to and from Twickenham station.....fully sponsored livery.
Free ST option to every Union ST holder for 1 year. Thereafter, £100 to keep their seat.
Every child under 18yrs of age admitted free to all games.
1 Marketing scholarship to offered every year covering 2 years sponsorship, for a competition open to all 1st year Marketing students in London. Annual competition judged by 3 or 4 MD's of large creative agencies. Competition winners idea to be implemented for at least 1 game.
All staff wages indexed against performance.....ie commission for success, but no more rewarding failure.
Club targets would include:
Continuation of the community projects, but with the conduit that the kids taught need to turn up at games with their parents.
Minimum of 1 top 8 then 2 top 6 finishes in the 5 years. If the coach isn't happy to accept this, replace him with a young hungry Aussie Coach, but keep him on as Director of Football (he truly belives in London RL....something that is invaluable)
Better communication with the fans....SMS/EMAIL etc to be fully used. Team sheets to be sent by text to all fans once announced, injury updates (where prudent).
No panic buying of overseas "star names". Every player fully priced and accountable.....no more pension players and the concentration on local/uk talent continued.
In fact...there's not much more that could be done with the playing side....recent bad run aside, the club are pretty much as accessible as they have always been.
