I think NZ proved last week if you are prepared to stick in and go the complete 80 minutes against Australia you have a chance. Aus can get complacent if their wizardry does not result in a huge point advantage early on in the contest.

Problem for England being when the vital opportunities come along they tend to make poor decisions,some going for individual glory,others wanting to show how smart they are instead of just doing the basics.

Thing is now if super coach Bennett makes changes to the team,he is admitting he got his pick wrong against NZ,will his pride let him do that.

we just dont have the half backs in anycase, williams i think is the one to go with now going forward.

kev brown cant kick, never has been able too.. he has that brilliant cut out pass to the wingers though which we used once.

our 2nd rowers have been very quiet this series too, two main areas to try fix up asap 2nd row and half backs

oh and lomax, waste of time, average at that level, ratchford should have been given a chance

sam tomkins will be back for next year at full back so that may help in that department if hes back on form this time (or hardaker!)

Thought Bateman's 'd' was phenomenal for the most part,fan of Chris Hill but thought he was average today,and 'Jammer' Graham not as effective as normal.SamB is still our star man,but now not quite as dominant as he was,but him and his siblings give us our best go forward when they are all on the field.

Thought we looked a threat at times on attack letting Hodg moving out of dh,and then had the halfs combining down one edge.

I like Lomax,joins the line well but looks a yard of pace short at this level.

Lomax I thought did well mopping up kicks, his fullback positioning was very good. But he doesn't bring enough attack wise- since we have played halfbacks who have barely nodded at each other we need someone else to help create.

bennett says the sl based players need to smarten up, things they get away with at club level they wont get away with at international level

nrl based players like sam burgess also took a hit from him saying he gives too many pens away

World cup absolutely no chance, the Aussies could have put 3-4 teams out and still beat us. In every position they match or beat us, and have 3-4 players in reserve they can bring in to do the job.

They wear you down, and wear you down then destroy you. Cronk, Thurston & Smith dominate, control and don't make mistakes, I can't see that changing for the WC.

Not sure Sam Tomkins will ever be quite the player he was after that knee injury he picked up in the NRL.

As for centres with some size,well there is Joel Tomkins to return,struggling to think of another potential big man to play the other side of him though.

I'll give Watkins his due he had a top game last Sunday,didn't miss a tackle.Will Cudjoe come back into the reckoning? I reckon he's got better go forward at collision time.

As for the wingers well Jermaine has been very good,but younger Manfredi is going to be pushing him now.Other wing can't think of an obvious replacement for Hall,who never lets ERL down.
