| Been told we are looking at bringing jack Reed in place of joe wardle. We have a good reputation with injury prone players keeping them fit. I'm told wardle will be gone end of year with a 2 year deal at the knights and we get first refusal if he returns.
Salford are also keen on reed. He wouldn't count on the cap.
Our first choice backs will be brough and Gaskell with Ellis as cover and to rotate brough.
Wood will concentrate on the hooking role permanently.
Murphy and ormsby on the left side maybe reed.
hopefully Johnson will sign a new contract
Still no news on taai
Been told Ferguson isn't coming anymore aswell which I'm not bothered about

| He wouldn't count on the cap- I wish!!!!! Do you mean on the quota?
I'd heard reeds career could be over with his latest injury- so would be a massive gamble.

Sam Rapira was a big gamble with injuries and fitness he'd had horrendous problems back in the NRL and he's been a great addition to the squad when he applauded us cheering fans coming back to the line after we had scored on Friday he sort of made me think he's our new Fuey no sidestep but then he hits the tacklers so hard he probably doesn't need it
We seem to do well at turning these guys round might be why we would appeal to Jack Reed.

| It would be a gamble, but I would have thought RT and co would bring that into consideration with any financial package, games played scaled to salary. If we get a decent number of games from him he'd be more than able to fill, Wardle/Conner's shoes

You must live with your head in the sand.
If you are relying on Thewlis to get it right we are ed.
We will probably sign him on a five year contract with a huge salary no get out clause and then forget to insure him fora career ending injury

| How could all this be sorted without a coach? Surely any new signings would want to know who they are playing under...

It's all too easy to cast unsubstantiated views on RT, he has a difficult job to do, even though some people think they can do a better job.
At the end of the day he (RT) works for the club/board, I suspect any decision he makes will be in their best interest and in some case in conjunction with them. I would guess therefore any substantial spend which JR is likely to cost will require their sign off and I would expect RT would need to write a suitable business case outlining the pro's and con's and a recommendation which would apply a number of clauses to protect the club.
It should be noted a contract has TWO parties in it and the player with the aid of his agent/lawyers will want certain clauses too. So any contract will be a compromise for both parties, but apparently I live with my head in the sand to suggest he would seek to apply clauses, such as appearances to compensation for his services

All this makes perfect sense I agree and it's the way things work in general. I think though you have to agree that Durham has a point, With the shambolic way that things have been handled player wise, Right back to Devere, Drew , Hodgson, Mason, are others that come readily to mind, Fines for illegal signing, One's we have sold as not good enough and brought back, as just what we need. Even the most ardent Giants fans would have to admit It's been a bit Amateurish to say the least.
So somebody has done , shall we say a very poor job. Your post ( and I'm not saying you are wrong ) seems to suggest that rather than it being one person, it is the whole Board who have been guilty of the very poor decision making, And in either case there is only one man who can sort it.
