| This is going to be a very tough game, because although newly promoted, they like us, held Toronto to 14 points and have won at Bradford, plus in their last home match put over 50 points against Barrow. Crowds are improving and for the first time this season thee are 3 stands being opened. I believe this is our first visit to Bootham Crescent, but it is a fast surface which should suit us down to the ground. Pownall is back, but should he go to full back to allow Riddy to go back to the halves? Hopefully we will have our Saints contingent back, as we are facing a well coached side by a James Ford.

| It won’t be fast on Sunday. Heavy rain on Saturday and Sunday in York and Bootham Crescent pitch is similar to what Hilton Parks pitch used to be like when it rained.

| York are a real credit to the Championship and to the game, I applaud them for how far they have come and to be such a force not to be taken lightly.
Pownall would have to take the wing for me as we struggle on the edges. DR availability will choose were Riddy plays but I would like to see him back in his position along side Woods, although at present needs must again.

| York are a credit to nobody they have bounced from disaster to disaster, lets wait to see what the next few years bring to describe them as a credit to anything. Great to see them back in York though and really wish them well in becoming a credit to

You could substitute "York" for most clubs in both leagues, especially Leigh. I didn't see York begging for players at the end of the season. Yes they've had their fair share of problems like everybody else.

So that makes them a credit? You will note I didn't claim my club to be a credit. York have yo-yo'd between C and C1, had the challenge of being homeless, banned from running reserves and a few hours from being struck off in recent years. I wish them well as York is a great city, and a great away day, plus its RL and we must all stick together

I never said you claimed your club were a credit to anything, but why comment about another club when your and my club (Leigh) have been a shambolic load of sh!!!!te with regards to running a business? Having read your posts over the years I understand your very low levels of expectancy. Your chicken feed of 20, 30, 40 perhaps 50 thousand pound of input probably made you feel important, terribly sad. I'm afraid there are so many ten bob millionaires like yourself, rather than denigrate another club when we are in the mire ourselves try to be a little more supportive.

Sorry Morvan, you have one over me in that I don't know who you are to have a personal pop at you, not that I would stoop so low as belittle anyone who puts their hard earned into our club. FYI and feed your next assault it was the former figure but the motivation wasn't importance more nobody else was putting their hands up at the time. Ten bob millionaire eh, I trust a man of such high morals will expose their true identity following my response, or not.

I suspected that you were loaded 'Maurice', but a millionaire, eh? I just want you to know that I have always valued you as a good mate.
For what it's worth, my opinion is that anyone and everyone, who puts their hand in their pocket, to help save 'our' club, is deserving of respect - and they are even entitled to hold an opinion, about anything and everything. (even another club)
I'm with you, on this one!

Alan, in all honesty Maurice is not only a great Leigh supporter but an all round nice guy, him and me have had our banter bouts over the years , but I have the utmost respect for him.
Again everyone is entitled to voice their opinion, again we may not agree but everyone is still entitled to say what they think.
Mo you are one of life’s good guys, keep rollin.

| Really feel that our game management let us down again yesterday , at 60 minutes in bad conditions with both teams struggling to complete a set and endless knock ons , that was the time to properly set up and take a drop goal and the lead , putting extra pressure on the opposition , we always seem to be re-active rather than pro-active

Pity it took John Duffy 30 minutes to realise Riddy is not a full back!!

| Pownall played very well, as did all in those conditions and some came up with some big minutes too.
It would be a shame if it took another injury to Woods to highlight that our obvious best halve combination is Richardson and Riddy.
Still need a bit more speed and far calmer heads, hopefully the supposed return of Liam Hood and provide a bit of this, the York game was 2 points we lost but it was an entertaining match between to fairly well matched teams.

Most definitely one of those games, if you get down there make sure you come back with any points. Just took too long to figure that out.

| I'm in two minds on whether it was bad game management, or just simply missed chances. Either way it wss a frustrating game to watch. We had two missed drop goal attempts, a missed penalty, Thornley's drop with the line at his mercy in the first half, bombed chance the tackle immediately before and Thornley unable to drop onto a kick through in the second half.
We need McNally back into our attack asap, because without him we look too slow. I think a poor kicking game in good conditions from Toronto tricked us into a bad selection. York dominated the first 20 minutes every kick led to either a knock on or a poor start to a set. I think Cox will be on the wing now until McNally is fit.
Anyone know why Higginson and Holroyd aren't getting a look in?

But that's my point , our drop goal attempts were under pressure , they knew we would be doing it ,
Last week after we had scored and got to 6 behind Toronto with 14/13 minutes left , we should have gone up the middle ( we ended up with a repeat set as they knocked on ) and kicked a 1 point , making it a 1 score game to win ( again added pressure on your opposition ) and we retain the ball for a 4 succssesive set
I do wonder if we have any form of ' play book ' as in the captain or HB makes a call and everybody then knows what we are going to do ?

It's a fair point, but I feel too many individual mistakes robbed any chance of going for a 1 point, or getting a pen to convert. Think we went through a spell where we lost the ball within the first two tackles in about 4 consecutive sets. Then, when we did make it 8-8, we gifted them the chance to take 1 point by failing to gather the kick off.
Wouldn't know about play book. But they look like a team that uses the majority of the small time they have together working on defence. This is fair enough, but I'd suggest that the next two weeks are must win games, and we'll need attack to be better.

| Well, hopefully Liam Hood will get us on the 'front foot' a bit more. I also think Riddy is still our most creative player, and has to be at half back.

| The main reason York won was due to the superb kicking game by the scrum half Robinson. He put so much pace on the kick off after we drew level that it was almost impossible to stop, while his kicking on the 6th tackle continually meant we had to clear our lines from within our 20. Woods disappointing again and all the creativity came from Ridyard.

So it was Woods fault? Riddy took the HB position, can't really say his kicking game was on form. Once Pownall went to fullback we ended up weak on the edge again. People keep going on about we need forwards when really we need 3/4 with pace.
