Just received a text message on my mobile and don't know who sent it. it says quote

We have been trying to contact you about your PPI claim. We still have £2308.34 in your name waiting to be sent to you. To get it reply PPI.

Do you think I should reply ? I have never taken out personal protection insurance.

Had the same one with the exact same figure ....... ignore!

Do NOT reply and, if you can be bothered, report the number to OfCom and/or the Information Commissioner's Office

If you reply you will be agreeing to a very expensive service that you will have great dificulty cancelling.

If you have had loan with a bank they have get intouch with you by letter

PPI texts arn't specifically for you, if you respond your phone number is 'sold' to other companies so they know it's an active number. Then you will be bombarded with all sorts forever.

Ignore it, if you want to pursue PPI, do it through a proper company.

Apparently we have been in the wrong Council Tax band since 1993, can’t remember all the details but bands were allocated based on house prices around 1991 and we’ve been in the wrong one since we moved in 1993, the company who’s picked up on this, wants no up front fee but 50% of any ‘winnings’ plus tax.

Anyone else had experience of this?
Is this the ‘normal’ rate for these kinds of things?
What will they do for their share? Write a couple of letters, I can do that.

My Mum and Dad got fed up of all the telephone calls and texts re PPI so they went to their bank and asked, they got back a decent amount and now they can just say to the mithering pests, no thanks Ive already claimed mine back.
Worth trying with our own bank/building society.

Talk to the council first glow

We pursued our own with Lloyd's TSB and had no trouble at all getting it back.

It had crossed my mind but me and the council have history......... and I usually lose.

Speak to the Valuation Office in Manchester, who are responsible for banding properties for CT purposes. If your banding goes down they will notify the local CT office (I pressume W...n in your case). Once the council receive notification of the new banding a refund will be issued for any overpayments you have made. You do not have to apply to the council for the refund.

These listings were done by 'drive by' estate agents when Thatcher had to quickly replace the poll tax. They are frequently wrong.

Phone them Frank, play along as they will "fish" for a company you have had a loan with and when you mention it they will be off saying how wonderful they are . When they transfer you to the next person in the chain just hang up. I've not had a call about PPI since I did this about 3 months ago.
Did this again last week about carbon credits and pushed them to tell me which type of carbon credits they were selling, when I asked if they were the valuable ones or the worthless ones they hung up on me - cheeky baskets. These calls do brighten up the day when you are sat at home waiting for the next episode of star trek.
