| Quote "The RFL will help in the office, help in technical support and some financial support too, but that's in the long term, not a big cash pay-out now," explained Hughes.
"I want to move forward now and I'm very happy with what the RFL have offered, so for 2011 I have committed myself financially and on to 2014."

| That reads like a helping hand and is nowhere near a "bail out". The RFL needs a presence in London so will do their best to maintain it.

| For RL to have any chance of being a national game (and the Sky money that comes with it) it needs a presence in London.
I'm OK with the RFL helping them out, I just hope they come out and tell the world exactly what it is they are doing, no hidden agendas, no cloak and dagger, no moving goalposts. Just cut the flannel and tell us the truth.
What us flatcappers think or care is as irrelevant as it is frustrating but a growing RL needs London more than it needs Leigh, Whitehaven, or Oldham.
I just wish they would grow some balls and say 'Yes, we're taking £x out of the Sky pot and pumping it into Quins, and any other 'expansion' club for that matter to help the game grow nationally'.

It says" it doesn't mean a big cash payment now" well that to me sounds like they will get quite a bit of financial help over a period of time instead of a lump sum

| The RFL are throwing money at new clubs because they want to expand the game and give it a higher national profile. They are hardly going to do that by propping up clubs in the heartlands who have lost their supporters. The game below the top few in SL is dieing through lack of bums on seats, the RFL would be stupid to continually bail out failing clubs that nobody wants to watch anymore.

Would hardly call Quins a new club, been going on in one form or another for 30 odd years now - the simple fact appears to be that RL in London aint working.
By the same token I can understand why the RFL feels there needs to be a presence there.

Rugby League anywhere aint working except, for those few at the very top! There was a Womans Rugby Union game at the stoop a couple of days ago and 13000 people attended! says it all to me
I'll try and help the RL; Rugby League will not succeed in London or South Wales! not now,not ever!!
There is however, interest in the South of France and, they should persevere with that project.

| RU is an establishment sport in London, the womens wc final was a novelty event that RU fans could attend, the other games had a few hundred on played park fields.

hkr are £3m in debt probably owed to the directors.
quins have outstanding loans of over £6.2m according to the LE a couple of months ago, also to the directors.

Did you see last night's documentary?
As a fading sport, with no money, that continued from crisis to crisis, only subsisting as the heart of soul of pit communities (that no longer exist).

I take it you're not coming to Devon v Cornwall, the RL SW County Championship game in Plymouth next Thursday?
Re the Women's World Cup. Nolllie Watermann is a Level 2 RL coach, who coaches kids in League in Gloucester. Her partner is Brad Hepi. Rocky Clarke played RL for Peterlee Pumas in the North East for a couple of seasons.
Wales beat England at u15 and u16 this year. Hemel Stags just beat Dewsbury Celtic in the RLC National finals.
