| Interesting to hear Chris Riley on picking up his MOM award last night saying it should have gone to Grix. Becoming a very important player for us and so underrated never seems to have a bad game despite covering a number of positions. It must be brilliant to have him in the squad knowing he can fill so many roles, still think his best position is loose forward brilliant last night well played Simon

| If he can stay relatively injury free he could be a standout player this season

| How it seems to work on here with opinions on Grix is he has a good patch of games, everyone says how good he is, then he gets injured, people don't rate him for a while, then he has a good patch of games, everyone says how good he is, then he gets injured, people don't rate him for a while, then he has a good patch of games, hmmmm maybe a pattern is forming, if only i could see it

| You may have a point but i prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt but have to say injuries aside, and all players tend to get those. I cannot remember that many poor games and he is asked to play many positions

| I rate Grix but i prefer him in the forwards.
The player who needs to step up this season, and this is not being critical just an opinion, Mike Cooper, i just want to see a bit more from him this season.

| I've always rated Grix....he's just been so unlucky with injuries. Has he ever had an injury free season?
I think his brother is a good player as well

| I think M Monaghan is looking better this season, still think Evans is a bit off the pace of super league yet, attacking moves seemed to have finished once he has the ball

| Monas is definitely getting back to his running best IMO...attacking the line from dummy half and finding gaps with his passing AND his running...good to see!
Its interesting that Smithy is sticking Higham and Monas on at the same time...midway through the second half it would seem...both running at tired defenses...seems pretty effective to me.

I think he's definitely got it in him, see Saints away in the playoffs. He just needs to find some sort of consistency.

I've been referrring to this phenomenon as 'Grix Syndrome' for a couple of years now.
Simon has had an unfortunate run with injuries at the start of seasons for a few years now, and usually when he's out injured you get the usual illiterates calling him a 'squad player' or going further to say that he should be shipped off to Widnes. I pointed out at the beginning of the season that, Grix being fit, he could take the league apart once he hits his stride. He was certainly in it last night and last week.

| I don't think Evans has been put into a single gap so far this season. He showed a flash of brilliance in the Cas game when he put ( Westwood?) in from Joel's flick, but has had no opportunity to date to show what he can do in attack. Not much got past him in defense so far though.

| How bad have skys MOM picks been on our last 2 games?
Riley played fairly well, but MOM? There were a number of players ahead of him.
And against Catalan, didn't they give it to Myler? He played fairly well, but he wasnt MOM by any stretch.. Mylers performance against Hull far surpassed his catalan performance.
You have to wonder what game these sky pundits are watching sometimes.

Whether it's commentary or MOM you have to say Sky are very consistent in everything they do.

Looking at the tackling stats you are spot on. He was 5th top tackler for Wire this season, and those above him were all forwards. I am sure he will have his share of off games, because everyone does, but this run of games will give him some really good experience.

Surpassed in strangeness only by RL Express' Albert Goldthorpe medal points awarding. In the last couple of weeks Matty Smith and Damien Blanch have both received points in front of Myler.

I might be wrong, but I think that this is his longest run in the side and it will do him a lot of good. my opinion is that he will really kick on as the season goes on and if given any space at all (which hasn't happened so far) he will be absolutely devastating.

| Re Grix.
As I've said many times on here, I don't bad mouth ANY Wire player, so long as they put in the effort, and play consistently well. Grix does this, and more, so no gripes from me. I just don't get this hero worship when he has a very good game (which he obviously did last night)
Unfortunatley for Simon, he has a player who is better than him in every position he covers.
Grix is (atm) a squad player, who fills a number of positions very well.
It's up to him to improve his game so much, that Smith HAS to give him a regular starting jersey, thus displacing someone from the side when we're fully fit. I'm sure he's capable.
From memory, he hit the ground running in '06, then the injuries (and illness) hit home, then he was little hit and miss, and in the last season or so, he's been back to his best.
Good on him.
On the Sky MoM last night. They must've opened the sherry early on the gantry.

Well said, Lefty, especially the bit about bad mouthing Wire players.
