| On a more positive note, Bradford had over 15,000 at Odsal yesterday. A very well done!

| Salford V Saints and Cas v Huddersfield couldn't get more than 6k. Games between sides a handful of miles apart and years of opportunity to establish themselves.
Not good enough really, is it.

| I have followed several of the London incarnations, and have seen them play at Chiswick Poly sports ground, The Stoop first time round, Charlton, Brentford and back to the Stoop again.
First time round at the Stoop they use to match, and occasionally beat, the union crowd numbers. The fans started drifting away when they moved to Charlton, a god forsaken place that is a bugger to get to from wherever you start.
I agree that these low gates aren't sustainable, but it would be a great pity for RL to lose it's foothold in the south. Quins are excellent in taking our beautiful game into the local schools, but they need to tap into the Aussies that live in South London.

| It is in South London, that's why they need to get the Aussies back watching them.

The Metro used to carry a fair bit a few years back.
I'd say The Stoop is pretty much Surrey, meself - it's hardly hardcore Sarf London like Balham, Tooting, Peckham, Catford, Streatham, etc.

yep i did..it was the 2nd visit there at the back end of the season and we won something like 54-32 i think..eventful day our coach broke down a few miles from the ground so we hitched a lift to the game and we all got in for free something to do with them having to have one turnstyle open to a free gate..did`nt go to our 1st ever visit there in which we lost

That's good news. I don't believe anyone asked but I'm pleased to be kept in the loop.
Shame for the Quins but I hope they stick with it.

| No matter what their attendances are, I reckon they're here to stay, as it's probably on the sayso of Sky, that there's a London presence in SL. It looks like we're stuck with them.
FWIW, I've nowt against Harlequins/London etc, just their paltry attendances, which must make outsiders p155 themselves with laughter. In a catchment area of 7 million plus, and them playing top level RL for 16 consecutive years, they are still struggling to get anything like a respectable average attendance.
It must be soul destroying for the few fans they've got.

| Quins owner has and continues to stick in his hard earned to keep the club afloat. Heard Brian McDermott getting almost emotional when talking about the dedication and commitment people have at The Stoop to keep RL going there. Can it continue on good will and a financial backer who surely can't keep up assistance of this sort. Would be interesting to hear form Quins fans how they believe Red Hall help their club with PR and marketing.
