as much as i cant stand tomkins he`s earned his place after his much improved 2nd half showing last week...just hope he does`nt go hiding in the 1st half again...

After his impact last week, you couldn't not give Eastmond a crack at NZ. Where can he hurt them from the most ? Halfback, getting his hands on the ball and imposing himself on the game.

It's no reflection on Myler, more of a positive reflection on Eastmond.

Myler will have a storming game this weekend.

After the match he will have secured his place as Englands halfback for next series, all over the forums.

do you know nothing! all these fans that have been calling out for tomkins/eastmond will, now they've got what they want, tell you smith hasn't picked myler because he is saving him from getting injured playing against those big bad kiwis, therefore, once again showing his warrington bias and it's exactly the reason he shouldn't be anywhere near the national team!

Smith has to do what is right for the team. He cant just play Myler just because "he likes him". Plus i think he is far to small and young to be playing against the likes of Australia and New Zealand at the moment. Let him get some more games against the lesser nations for the time being.

Myler is not in there as he's not good enough compared to the half backs picked. He should never have been selected into the squad having not played since July and couldn't possibly be match fit.

The cynics amongst us would argue that Richie Myler has signed for Warrington now, so the need to pick him for England has diminished somewhat. Eastmond's contract is up next season so it's an ideal opportunity to evaluate his potential and character up close and have a little word-in-ear time.

The idiots might. Myler signed well before the squad was picked, has since played for England and clearly wasnt match fit. On second note, thank god he didnt enlist Pryce and carthorse then.
