Is this a realisation that kicking the ball out of hand isn't one of our strong points, so we've adapted our game away from a Briers-led attack and into something our current squad are more adept at? Should we be using the upcoming games against teams in the lower half of the table to add an element of a kicking game back into our tactics? If we could try to do this now, whilst continuing with some running from the ruck, then it'll add more strings to our attacking repertoire before the games at the back end of the season when trophies are at stake. A team that is unpredicatble is much harder to set a defense against, and if we could polish some kicking focussed attacks it'd hopefully increase our chances of collecting some pots.
I haven't kept a eye on the form of O'Brien whilst he's playing for Swinton, so don't know whether he's been told to go there and practise his attacking kicks, but he's probably the most adept ball out of hand kicker on Warrington's books. Could we see him coming back into the fold over the next few weeks?
