This guy has to be the worst ref I've ever seen. Watching the USA v Scotland... he's unreal. This is a bloke that has supposedly played top grade RL.

Disagree BD - technically right on the obstruction but its a daft rule - and US scored both tries defo. Still shouting for the Scots though.

Ay I thought the ref was Alibert?

According to the BBC match report it was inspector Clueless , MSR alibert.

It was Alibert I was about 10 metres away from him and James Child warming up.

I agree what a clueless display, if I have never seen a ref so openly favour one team over the other it was tonight. Alibert must be Scottish to so obviously be in the Scotts corner all game.

I have to disagree he seemed to favour the USA more in my opinion but having seen Mr Albert on a number of occasions this season he is without doubt awful.

I don't think Alibert favoured either side, I just think he's not very good. Scotland seemed to get some poor calls first half, USA the second, but the USA's indiscipline had a major part in a 12-0 penalty count to Scotland in the second half.

I must admit I wasn't overawed by the ref's performance either. I think Scotland were a bit unlucky with some of the decisions, especially the disallowed try for obstruction. The USA players didn't even bother moving across the line to make the tackle, regardless of whether a Scottish player was in their way.

I'm surprised that the attendance was fairly average given the big attendance at Leigh a few days ago. Is this down to local apathy or are RL fans reluctant to travel when it's practically gridlocked around the stadium?

The fact that the game was the same day as the Christmas lights switch in the Chavod didn't help. Even getting the bus from Worlsey to Eccles took best part of 45 minutes early on so I can see that put plenty of people off.

I was impressed that the stadium didn't run out of food or beer once which I fully expected it to do, maybe the RFL saw the rickets that they made of it at the friendlies the other week and insisted theyt improved.

Just watched a replay of the game on tv. Did he really give that first try to USA! Must have been a one foot blade of grass that the lawn mower missed.
