| Is it me or are the pack playing with plenty of spirit at the moment. we have played against three big packs in the last weeks and to me have won quite a few battles. Cashmere, what can we say (this guy is awesome) and to me another outstanding forward is Mr Jewitt, he is playing out of his skin and with superb controlled agression. Swian is a no nonsense forward who gets through a lot of hard work. sidlow and sibbit also playing well. any thoughts!

My thoughts are that I'm happy to eat humble pie. Well, based on the last 3 games anyway.
Ray 'Rutcho' Cashmere!
Lee Jewitt. Hmm. Starting to fulfill his potential, however, apathy is often the side-effect of success. If he keeps looking to learn in training and from match experience, then hey, he could be a cracker! Defo our recent star man me thinks!
Luke Swain. What a warrior. He only has one level of effort, top level! So consistant. Lets hope he tries to pass on this attribute to the younger blokes.
Adam Sidlow is really progressing. He seems to take a lot of confidence from the form of the other forwards who've stepped up of late. He seems to be developing a few more attacking qualities. Offloads and strike play near the opposition try line. Great work!
Ian Sibbit. Didn't seem quite as involved today. He kinda didn't have to. Whilst the other forwards are playing as they are, Sib may well become more of a strike player again.

| Sidlow looked like the Incredible Hulk everytime he took the ball in today.
Holdsworth was our stand-out player today and, quit rightly, takes all the plaudits.
However, everything he did was on the back of excellent work from our forwards who, as a unit, were immense today.

| The whole pack is outstanding, including Boyle, who hasn't been mentioned.
Sibbitt is steady but is the most likely to lose his starting place.
Cashmere is bound to be the target for other clubs whilst Jewitt and Sidlow are top class.

| Oh yeh. Sorry to Ryan Boyle if you read this...
Top performance today. Another player who appears to have stepped up a couple of levels over the last 2-3 weeks. If he keeps 'stepping up', he too could well become a top player.

Beneath contempt - all the forwards did a terrific job yesterday, if you can't see that I suggest it's your eyesight needs sorting out!

| I too thought the pack was outstanding yesterday. Right from the start I felt our forwards wanted it more and made the Huddersfield pack look second best. On the back of that control, Holdsworth and Ratchford could set up play.
Sidlow and Jewitt are starting to show that they are Super League material having come through the ranks and whereas last season I felt we were weaker when Cashmere and Stapleton went off, this season our forwards on the bench (Leuluai deserves a mention here too) are maintaining the pack's momentum.
I thought that Malcolm Alker's defensive effort yesterday was incredible. I bet he topped the tackle count - though Luke Swain must have run him close.
Yesterday proved the old adage that Forwards win you matches; Backs decide by how many.

| [iIn my opinion yesterday against the Giants was the best effort from Ray Cashmere since he arrived at the Willows.
On Good Friday Cashmere finshed the game looking knackered and I did not even expect him to turn out yesterday.
Also yesterday he seemed to get more game time than in recent fixtures.
In this sort of form Cashmere can prove a few people wrong including myself and I am really looking forward to see how he copes with the Wigan Warriors pack this coming Sunday.
GOOD LUCK BIG FELLA..

Probably the Turkey. If I was getting slated despite busting a gut every week, I'd find new energy to prove the doubters wrong.

| What's your general opinion of Boyle so far then? Like many other Cas fans I was gutted when he left as he had real potential and gave the team a lift when he came on in games.

* Nathan Brown Column
GIANTS coach Nathan Brown believes his players’ mental attitude rather than team selection was at the heart of his side’s bitterly disappointing 30-18 Super League defeat at struggling Salford.
Several of his senior players sat out the clash yesterday’s after they had starred in Friday’s big home win over Catalans Dragons.
But even though Brown could have risked playing Brett Hodgson, Eorl Crabtree, Lee Gilmour and Keith Mason if necessary, the Galpharm chief felt their absence wasn’t the chief reason for a fourth defeat of the season.
“A few could have played, but it’s a long season and there are two competitions to go for and we would like to do well in them,” he explained.
“If I had my time again I would have selected the same team, because I didn’t think that was the problem. The problem was that we weren’t at the races from the start.
“Salford are a hard team to beat and maybe some of our players did not give them the credit they deserve.
“We aim was to come here and grind out a win, not play touch and pass footy from the start and just expect to turn up and win.
“When the opposition kick-off in the second half and score straight from it, those are signs that maybe we just weren’t hungry enough.
“We will have learned a lot from this. There was always going to be an upset over the Easter weekend – unfortunately it was us.
“I want to see a response at home to Castleford on Friday.”
