Great win for a Cas team missing so many players.

Wigan fans will mention they were missing George Burgess and given their fans claimed he would be man of steel this season before a ball was kicked, means its just the same as cas missing all their players

To be honest, given his performance last week his absence was a bonus for Wigan.
It didn’t click for Wigan tonight, but I’ll be surprised if they aren’t in the mix at the end of the year.

Don't think Hardaker should play centre if I'm honest. Definitely better at FB. Hastings did nothing and that young lad did better. Number 28 I think it was.

Harry Smith, first start for Wigan tonight and he showed himself up well. Not sure why we were trying to play one out rugby with the young pack we've got, ignoring the pace in the backs. The Wigan "knock on" that lead to the 2nd Cas try looked very dubious from where I was standing, but Cas were the better team for the vast majority of the match other than the brief bit of momentum Wigan picked up in the last few moments.

Marcus Griffiths is the first ref I've seen not stand for Wigans grub tactics, fair play to him.

That is one of the best wins Powell has had as Cas coach too with the amount of players he's already missing - it was the most well drilled I've seen them play once they got 10 up they managed the game superbly with touch finding kicks making Wigan carry it back up from the 10.

Agreed. It was like the Leeds of 2014.

Get that lead then make your opponents start their sets in their own 10. Richardson kicked really well and played a great game.

Macca is also still as good as ever. His runs from dummy half were great, his defence solid as ever then when Trueman went off he played great on the left at half back.

I didn’t. Wheldon Road has become a bogey ground for Wigan.

In fairness, since 2014 there haven’t been many away teams win regularly at Wheldon Road.
I did expect a Wigan win last night given the players Cas were missing, though.

Wigan also had quite a few missing didn't realise until I saw a post earlier.

I always look at my own team and notice the absentees, whereas I always notice the players I see as a threat in the opposition team!

It's always easy to predict a result after a game. Mind you, after saying that, Wigins no good.
