Who will replace Anthony Smith? Brian Smith?

They will do well to remember where they were before he came, if the next guy isn't twice as good i suspect they will be back there again pretty soon, i guess their fans turned spoilt by the finals and cup wins too !!

Recruitment has been poor over the last couple of years.
If Smith has had full control of recruitment, including that of Richard Agar, then he takes full responsibility.
If it was Moran's decision to hire Agar, despite his failure at every other club, and sign the likes of Brown then Smith has been harshly treated.

they have a few players nearing the end of their careers - gidley, westwood, brown, sims, atkins plus a few who seem to be in the comfort zone. it could well be a transitional phase for a new coach to deal with first

I can see Agar being promoted.

The rumour here was Michael Maguire. Not his first choice as he'll want to stay in the NRL, but it would be a very interesting move for all concerned.

Warrington is a strange one.
They have plenty of quality in their squad but, this season, have clearly under achieved.
The million dollar question is why ?

Having started the season on such a high, beating quality Aussie opposition, they have fallen off their perch.

Rumours that their "Aussie" contingent were trying to rule the roost may or may not be true but, the loss of Sandow really seemed to put the skids under them.

Smith is a top coach and seem a thoroughly decent bloke and perhaps Warrington should have looked at how Leeds treated their coach after 1 poor season as they seem to have got things together again (just about).

With the players they have, they can and will challenge again.
Surely, it was worth sticking with Smith ?

Any Wires fan who has publicly - social media and forums like this included - given Tony Smith any stick whatsoever is massively ungrateful and doesn't deserve a bit of what he gave us. Yeah this year hasn't been good enough, and the three Grand Final defeats (plus the 2011 semi) will haunt me permanently until we finally - if ever - win one, but compare my first 15 years watching (from 1994) to the last 8/9 under Smith and there's been a very slight difference. He deserves nothing but 100% respect and gratitude.
