| Any results from today ? Don't mean an awful lot but good to know
Saints 16-20 Widnes. Widnes 8-6 up at the break. 2 pretty strong teams out in the first half. Saints switched and changed a lot in the second half, although so did Widnes giving first team debuts to a number of lads and swapping key positions around
Another sin binning for Widnes. Retaliation (ran in to punch)
Saints player was tackled late and what looked to be next was Wilkin punching somebody on the floor. Was expecting ateast a yellow card (both ways) but only Widnes player got one.
Saw the Leeds score. Very weak team but still did the business

Rovers beat Hull 28-22 after Hull had been 22-6 in front. It was a good game as far as friendlies go.

Mmmmmmm, not strictly true Nozzy, I'd say Leigh started with just about a ' full ' team, similar to Wigan, ( maybe 3-4 ,who could be considered fringe ) , and leigh built an 8 point lead at HT
Second half Wigan put a few more juniors in, but strangely started to play better, Leigh struggled with ball retention for 25 minutes allowing the Wigan kids to retake the lead, last 15 Leigh upped the concentration despite intruducing a few fringe of their own and scored the winner
Not confirmed but apparently Wigan had 14 on the pich for 10 minutes or so second half

| Reports from the Hulls tend to confirm my analysis that Kenneth Sio was a very good buy, and that Albert Kelly, if he can remain fit, will light up Super League.

Tbf they were they were the stand outs for KR. They weren't in the game at all and then Kelly made a break slipping out of a few tackles, they shipped it wide and scored and the game changed on its head, with Kelly and Sio being involved in pretty much everything from then on.
Campese was anonymous though.

Do you know the meaning of the word "reports."
I never said that I was there. I stated that I was basing my judgment on reports. Practice your English comprehension before you write silly comments like the one above.
As others who were there have confirmed on this thread, the reports that I received are accurate. Kelly and Sio were outstanding. But never mind that, because you just don't have a clue.

| Dons 12 Cas 32 - Both teams looked about half and half starters and fringe players.
Awful game to be frank

| Happy with how Leigh look, missing Platt, Spencer, Ridyard, Sarsfield and Haggerty I felt Wigan would hurt us on the fringe but our centres are very special. Reynolds had a great game, as did the fringe players Tracey, Foster and Peet

I didn't think it would have been that close tbh , but give wiggin their due they put up a plucky performance and must have sniffed an upset when they saw Leigh's weakened squad.

| Salford 66 Swinton 4.
Much stronger Salford side than the one which played at Dewsbury last week. It was still missing Junior Sa'u, Ben Jones-Bishop, Mason Caton-Brown, Greg Johnson, Michael Dobson and Weller Hauraki who will feature in the first choice 17 you'd imagine.

Thanks for the link, helped to satiate my RL appetite, if only a little.
Kelly looks like a real livewire for Rovers, once the weather warms up a bit and the pitches firm up he could turn out to be a very shrewd signing.
Also good to see Curtis Naughton back in the super league. I would rather he was back at Bradford, but I still wish him well at FC.

Tbf his long kicking was good and got you out of trouble during a spell that your forwards were getting battered, but with ball in hand he didn't contribute a whole lot. I'm not saying he's a bad signing or anything, the guys only been in the country for a couple of weeks.

| I'll add my thanks for the link too. Only watched the first half so far; it's late, and I'll watch the rest tomorrow. Campese has done OK, but FC look quite decent so far. Didn't Ellis get injured pre-season last year? Didn't necessarily look anything too serious, though.

Thanks for that. Looks like Hull KR will have a great team for 2015, with the only weakness being back row where Larroyer and Burke will need to have two equally good partners. I would even go so far as to say that Hull KR will have one of the four best backlines in Super League.
Hull FC will have a good backline, and the best back row in Super League (Ellis, Minichiello and Westerman). Unfortunately I don't think that the Hull FC halves are quite good enough to match some of the other teams.

Close to a full strength starting line up ( 4-5 non 1st choice ) in the 1 st half, when Leigh built up an 8 point lead, 2 nd half a young squad but still a fair bit of SL experience, when good play by them ( and some poor handling and decision making by Leigh ) gave them a 2 point lead
Leigh added some fringe late on but got themselves together to win with the final score
A good tight match

| Just watched the second half of the Hull derby. Well HKR suddenly decided top start playing in the second half! Good performances from Kelly, who always looked a threat with his running game, and Dixon, who kicked some fine conversions.
