Didn't see Offiah tonight but it must have been a special kind of bad to be worse than it usually is!

How is that 'verbal diarrhoea'? It's competent technical analysis, something that more fans should pay attention to since the majority don't have a clue about the sport.

I'm sorry but "he made a silly play there" and "jumping up stream" along with "they targeted him in this set" isn't competent technical analysis

Wells does a far better job and before that, Rae blew Cullen out of the water.

Not to mention most of the time he finds fault where there isn't any, a brilliant bit of attacking play will be disregarded and it will be "the C defenders" fault for "highlighting" the wrong player, he uses buzzwords to sound smart.

Introduction question followed by Offah looking scared to death then followed by deep intake of breath and "um er <pause, looks down at notes> sorry um they um, y'know" pauses between words more ums and ers!

Got marginally better from there but not much.

he certainly does seem to be able to point out how every try has been scored along with the whys and wherefores of all other aspects of the game, which begs the question........why is the team he coaches so $hite???

Because he's a poor coach. Maybe it should be a wake-up call for fans who think that a coach's job is just to shout at the players and tell them to do well.

... but at least he doesn't speak in a northern accent, which according to some folk on this board is a prerequisite for disaster.

Embarrassing to watch, he looks like he is trying to wing it with every question instead of being prepared. He was suppose to be talking about wire at point but instead talked about Salfords problems which ended abruptly until he started talking about Richie Myler injury and saying he won't be out as long as what has been reported ( isn't he is agent? ) had to switch over at this point.

Does anyone watch Match of the Day. Alan Hansen could tell you why this goal was scored or why that goal wasn't scored, yet he's never even coached or managed a team. Football fans don't say he doesn't know what he's on about (apart from the kids thing). In fact all of the summarisers on MotD have either never managed or been pretty unsuccessful.

he was ing atrocious last night, i reckon he turned up expecting to go through the tries as he normally does (badly) and got jumped being asked to do previews for todays games.

Why do people think that only a good coach can be a good analyst? Good coaches need to be good analysts, but analysts don't need to be coaches. Cullen is a good analyst, but to be a good coach you need to be able to find ways of correcting or improving on your analysis.

You don't need to be able to coach someone in order to tell them they did something wrong.

So for those saying Cullen is a poor analyst because he's a poor coach, take a look at the idiocy of your comments.

As for Offiah, I've said for years he's shocking. Why can't people be employed for how good they are at their job instead of who they actually are these days?!

Clearly the people whose opinions really matter (Sky Sports in this case) think that Offiah is doing a good job.

Or he wouldn't be doing it.
