| Is it just me that's a bit bored of the reports that are coming out from Ross at the moment?
Headline: XXXXX states "it's hard but we are pulling together"
Ross: "How are you feeling?"
Person at the club: "A bit , but, getting on with it"
1) What does he expect the club's employees to say
2) Is it good for the players/supporters confidence that they/we are constantly reminded that we are struggling at the moment? Heck, it's making me depressed!!
I'm not talking about clouding reality, we know where we are and I'm sure the employees know better than anyone where we are. But... We're here now (for a reason which, in my opinion, the T&A have largely ignored... the explanation as to why could perhaps fill another thread but the cynic in me has my suspicions) and need to look forward.
In my opinion, some intelligent and positive reporting showing the way that everyone at the club seems to be fighting for the future of Bradford Bulls wouldn't go amiss. From meeting the players, staff and one or two of the new board members at the fans forum and season ticket event I personally believe this is the case.
So come on Ross, think of something a bit more inventive to tell us about?

| Every report article I've ever read of his bores me to smitherines. He should tell us how the Burgess clan are doing again, that should do the trick.

| To be fair, it's the same in every off season. Same story rehashed every couple of days with a different player name attached to it.
Part and parcel of not a lot happening really. And they can only report on developments with the cost cutting as and when the club actually give them something.

| To be fair its the same in the YEP about Leeds. Not much to say at the moment but the T&A can't resist digging up as much dirt as they can.

As long as it's accurate dirt, I have no problem with them digging it up.

| Whilst I agree with the general gist of the OP, today's article concerning FC reveals quite a bit.it's not good news but it is news

| I don't even think Ross writes these articles any more.
Any Bulls related news reads like the club has handed him an already compiled interview.
The reporting style is always 'on the fence', as you get the impression he doesn't want to upset anyone at the club.

| Like some have said, any sports reporter at any local rag, be that t&a, yep or South shelf gazette, has to pad out everything in the close season.
He needs to get one article out a day and strictly speaking doesn't have any news a lot of the time. I'm not really sure what people want from him.
Anything remotely hatchetty in nature tends to be written by a female reporter. That might be so that ross can retain close links with the club, or maybe that's reading way too much into it.

| All this concern by the T&A about the situation at the Bulls> It seems to me that any would be Bob Woodward should be chasing up Gerry Sutcliffe to question him about what has gone on or even ex council leader Ian Greenwood. How strange that 2 politicians seem unusually quiet. Not a trait well known amongst that particular ilk.

Mick, let me tell you that the Telegraph and Argus, still believes strongly and does a good job in its sports reporting.
I can sympathise with those critical that some of the content might appear mundane and repetitive.
But remember, it's the off-season and stories cannot be told without journalists recording what they see and hear.
Please read PumpetyPump's excellent summation of how sports journalism works in the off-season.

| Now then, the story posted today about potential court action is a perfect example of why the T&A are really starting to get on my t*ts with thier reporting.
There is absolutely no :u7h7yideNEWS:u7h7yide to this story what so ever. All it does is go back on the fact that OK is :u7h7yidepotentially:u7h7yide taking some action Mark Moore, which they reported a while ago, and that the annual return, which is for a period ending :u7h7yidebefore OK stepped down:u7h7yide, shows him as the majority shareholder, which isn't exactly surprising.
I really don't understand why they felt the need to print this, and all these stories serve to do is show the club in a continuing bad light. If it was "OK Takes Court action against MM" then fair enough, it's bad news, but its still news. This story is essentially:
"Something Bad May Happen!
Here's some bumpf about some poetntial stuff that might happen. Here's a tiny bit of history behind where this is coming from, as well as something we told you earlier, with a mention of how we told you about it early to big ourselves up. Here's a few not really surprising facts.
Neither side was available to comment."
Why?

| Club statement regarding the shareholding makes their position on the "local press" clear

Beat me to it, I've just read that too. Seems I'm not the only one annoyed at thier flair for the dramatic.

| One other little thing I noted was that the "negative" T&A stories seem to have no credited author. Ross Heppenstall appears to be the author where the club is directly quoted.

| Just a comment - but it does seem funny that the RFL can have approved the "change of ownership" of OK Bulls Ltd, when it is now clear that there has not been any change of ownership. (Mr K stills owns the company).

Actually, at the moment, we do not know for certain who the shareholders are and what proportion of the shares they hold

| I don't read any other sports apart from the RL section so I wouldnt know, Mick. I'd find reading the phone book more entertaining than reading one of Heppenstalls articles wether it's the first or third edition of it.

How is it clear? Have you some evidence that nobody else has? Are the new owners who have been in situ and running the place these past few weeks just a figment of people's imagination? I think we should be told.

I was just going on the club's statement on the club's website dated 20th December 2013 (link below) which includes the following:-
A spokesperson for the Bulls' board of directors has issued the following statement.......
"Since the fans forum, last month, we have continually strived to be open and transparent with our fans. As we informed everyone who attended that event, the club is still owned by Omar Khan."

| If I were FA I would be referring to the difference between de facto and de jure. sure the annual return if done today would say OK, but who has been doing the cuts, finding new sponsors, etc etc etc. As it says in some old book, by their deeds ye shall know them.
