| I remember reading a while back that they were basing the kit on an all blacks kit. I can see the similarities!
Kits a bit boring but does the job, looks weird with only one sponsor it, so used to the usual splattering of companies. Ha!

sleak, away kit not been revealed yet?
as for the sponsorship, major canadian air company, probably no need to sniff around for other shirt sponsors, if aired on uk tv, canandian/usa tv they may have asked for sole sponsor and paid more??

| I would imagine there would be no money changing hands for this deal? What's the cost of sending 25 people from Manchester to Toronto and back 20 times per year?

I suppose North American sports team 'jerseys' are fairly free from sponsors compared to UK RL. I suppose we have to bare in mind when judging Toronto on anything they do, that they have a completely different market and culture that they're aiming at. We're used to the crap sponsors everywhere, but North American fans aren't.

Possibly, no figures have been announced yet.
Some more info via twitter on the Air Transat deal:
"We are pleased to announce a 3 yr. deal w @airtransat! Flights for opposing teams & The Wolfpack, both to and from the UK will be covered."
"Also, travel packages for fans, including match day tickets, will be announced shortly as part of the 3 year agreement with @airtransat"

You say boring, I would say classy and their sponsor will be chuffed that their name is clear and folk are not distracted by other logos and adverts.
There was a time when the only "print" on the shirt was the club emblem and whilst all clubs need income, the amount of advertising on shirts, these days, doesn't improve their appearance.

I think the Basketball and Football (soccer) sides play in Red. I suppose they're trying to be distinctive and stand out in the city.
The club are certainly making the right noises, and are a positive for the game in what has been a pretty negative off-season.
Fairly decent stadium in central Toronto.
Good website.
Great main sponsor.
Kit & logo looking good.
Very active social media presence.
A squad assembled that could probably compete at the top of the Championship.
Their own TV deal sorted.
8 North Americans in their first squad, 4 which came through "The Last Tackle" TV programme they set up.
Their Canadian media are taking notice:
thechronicleherald.ca/sports/143 ... o-wolfpack
theprovince.com/sports/rugby/vic ... ague-dream
All before a ball has been kicked. Some of our own clubs should be taking note.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the side get on, what sort of home crowds they get, and how players cope with the travel (both for TW and the away sides).
Not a done deal that they'll be successful by any means, plenty of hard work still to do.

Perez has a great vision for the sport, personally I would like to see him take over from Nigel Wood at the RFL. He's passionate about the game and has delivered the goods, it's about time we got someone from outside the sport in charge to move forwards.

Not threatened , just a bit miffed , underhand tactics by our former coach in tapping up a decent % of our players as we were trying to get promoted , this despite him perpetuating a persona of being Leyth though and through
Also at how several of the players went about engineering their moves
Me , I couldn't care less about our former coach , we never got on , never will , the players have an opportunity to be part of something new and exciting , so I cannot blame them , they go with my best wishes
Toronto themselves the club , bloody brilliant , I hope they are a great success , if because of them we end up back in the Championship , fair enough , it might be somebody else , if it is we might see other fans less happy with them

Not that I was particularly bothered about it, as it allowed Brad Dwyer to come through, but I don't remember seeing too many Leigh fans complaining when similar tactics were used to bring in Micky Higham...?

Not denying it , and we aren't the only ones to do it , it's happened many times , but just the scale of it and what seemed like a deliberate attempt to derail our club by Mr Rowley who has been employed by us since 2003

| Great interview by the gum-chewing Perez on BBC Sport website...confident, positive and spot-on answer to the question of whether the Air Transat sponsorship announcement should embarrass some of the British clubs. It probably should, but he was far too gracious to say so, and put a new perspective on things. He realises that actually its the Hulls, Wigan's, Leeds etc. that need to keep up to avoid Toronto eventually hitting a glass ceiling in terms of market size.
A million miles ahead of the RFL, and most clubs as well for that matter.

The Toronto deal is nicely timed with Warringtons deal with Emirates set to end after 2017, surely they won't want to be out done by some poxy Canadian airline....!

| Well done Toronto on securing a massive sponsorship deal, as others have already said showing the RFL how it done...so no doubt we'll be casting them adrift in about a years time, we don't like progress in this sport.
