| I'm astounded that we played so well.
Nothing but praise for all the boys.
Didn't the defense look tight tonight and I know Roby will get the credit rightly so, but those young forwards tackled and tackled Cas to a standstill.
Can we afford to drop them?

| This is the most frustrating thing, we've known they can play that well all season!
Well done to the lads, to a man they were incredible and beat their opposition man for man.
Walmsley in for Laffranchi for me ...

| It was a very good performance, but looking at last week and now this, one could argue that Cas are well and truly gone. I think they're in for a hammering next week as well. I think their petrol light came on after their Challenge Cup semi final and they've been running on empty since. It's a shame as at home they could have caused an upset and removed one of the big boys, but no chance now IMO. They had no intensity or line speed tonight and we were very professional and made very few errors and the weight of possession and territory was all it took.
Roby was superb again, a proper Master and Apprentice performance against two very good young Cas hookers. The pack did well and T-Mak did superbly to take Carney out of the game completely.
Still not sure we've got what it takes to win the next game though. I envisage a similar outcome to the recent Warrington game at home.

| One of our best games of the season, what I liked is that it was an arm wrestle the first 10-15 and our pack managed to grind Cas down and took over.
At times I didn,t know who was playing in the halves and loose forward as the team seemed to have adapted well to changing patterns of play, good to see Amor getting some go forward again and Manu gave Cas all kinds of problems.
LMS still doing a lot of work but Roby the star showing the Cas 2 hookers how to play, I liked the McManus comment in the programme that Roby is perhaps too good for the dream team....on tonights showing he is something special.

| James Roby showing how to play the number 9 position. Pure masterclass tonight.
I think a big plus was attitude and our kicking game was outstanding!

| In terms of play off rugby it was a nigh on perfect display. Outstanding defence throughout, and as the game wore on we upped the ante in attack. We are a threat, make no mistake.

| I do think Roby's 80 minutes every match and amazing quality sets the bar so high he just finds it hard to get any higher , therefore an average match for Roby is a good match for anyone else.
Really took a strangle hold on that match.

| Dare I say it but you played a bit like Wigan tonight but with the extra Roby gives you, but Micky Mac wouldn't give him that much room,

| Saints ground out a convincing win. It was a poor game, with very conservative play from both sides. barely a line break, fluent passing move or outstanding bit of skill all night.
If Sants had Walsh & Lomax in they would be favourites for the GF, to get the LLS & to the semis is a credit to them with the players they have missing.

I just think Cas ran out of steam

so basically a hooker is just supposed to scoot? now we know why u love Roby so much. Maybe you should go back and watch the win's against leeds and warrington and see how he played in a those games as he played more than 20 minutes, also those games would be a lot more representative of an ENG-AUS and not that shower u played last night or our game against huddersfield.
That was a terribly boring game it was as if there was a rule that you can't pass the ball more than twice in a set, i think Jordan Turner try was the only exciting move put on. I don't think you will face another team that will throw so little at you.

| Almost perfect play-off football, albeit against terrible opposition. It's hard to judge how effective a similar performance will be next time out as Cas folded as soon as Turner scored.
The next game will be a war and I hope the lads will be ready for it.

I hope you are not trying to compare Paddy Wack with Roby because its a useless excercise. To avoid embarrassment I won,t post up Roby,s influential stats against Paddy Wacks.
He is far superior though in giving thuggish penalties away, if this is what you mean then you are correct in your post.

| I thought it was a top quality performance. The kicking game from turner was top draw and also lance and Roby put some very good kicks in.
We did the basics very well. We didn't get carried away and try and over play, it was simple but very effective from all 17.
James Roby for me was a machine. He was everywhere and he showed clarke what it takes to play well in big big games.

| There was only one frustrating thing and that was Mose and his run up before taking the ball. Everyone around us was saying the same thing in that he is still taking the ball up too flat.
He did have 2 carries where he was at speed and made metres, its still frustating that the team and Mose himself have not sorted this out to make him more effective.

Nice try but I disagree to an extent.
The first 15mins was a good arm wrestle and we came out on top. We needed that.
Second half was a breeze and yeah Cas weren't great.

The same goes for the Wigan game to a lesser extent. It was more how poor Huddersfield were than how good Wigan were, the same goes for Saints v Cas. Hard to see how good Saints and Wigan are playing when their opposition folded like a house of cards.

That maybe so but I bet his average gain is up around 10m a carry when the stats come out. He had a very good game and was one of the main reasons we became so dominant in the period just before half time.

He has the potential to make 10 metres average carry but ended up with stats similar to Amor just over 8 metres. We need more "wrecking ball" from him which is mass x accelaration, if we can get him running in a similar way to the Wigan game then he will become more of a game changer, same goes for Walmsley hit them at speed.
