As you know our U16s and U15s this season finished Unbeaten from 6 games each. Both teams defeating Warrington and Wigan in the process, while our U16s batters Leeds aswell.

Anyway with the U16s season being over Saints have promoted 6 players in our U18s for the remaining of the season. Yates, Speakman, Wilde, Ashurst, Tilley and Foster all played against Hull KR at the weekend. Having looked at all the other super league squads from the weekend, we had far more U16s playing than any other team. Great effort and especially with us winning a very good Hull KR team.

these lads are all England youth internationals and Yates is a proper old school scrum half. He directs his team superbly.

He is quick to tell us when Wigan play a load of 'underage' players in their acadamy games.
Keep up the good work Saints - you seem to be constantly rolling them off the conveyer belt. I know not all will make it to the 1st team but at least we are giving them the chance.

You don't need to tell me, we had eight or nine U18's in the U20's v Leeds and five 16 year olds promoted to the 18's on Saturday.

You've got to keep "testing" these kids al the way through the systems.

Chief Scout, is their a "break date" for introducing the young player into the U18's or is it just coincidence that we both did it last weekend.

Watch out for a 16 year old loose forward from Leeds by the name of Stevie Ward. He was superb against us on Saturday, scoring the match clinching try 50 metres out direct from a scrum with the last move of the match.

Rogues which U16,s got promoted from Wigan?

I don't think there is a date as the same lads where in the Saints team to play Wigan last week.
