| Was like a flashback to the first 2 seasons under smith.
We used to offload relentlessly, play expansive and move the ball wide every opportunity.
Now it's biff and bash until we get into decent positions, then our pivots inject themselves into the game. We still have so many flair players so we do come up with fantastic passages of play here and there, but they are few and far between. 'some birds aren't meant to be caged'.
On a hot summers day and a big pitch, this style of play from warrington is always going to have success in the CC if you do the little things right to back it up.
It's funny though, that it wasn't until our play evolved to be more conservative that we saw our best playoff success.
Even in 2004 grand final we had to play ridiculously conservative.
Warrington are now the complete package. They have the sheer forward power, the last ditch defence, the pace and power outwide and the guile and creativity in the halves. I wouldn't at all be suprised to see them take the super league title as well.
Make no mistake, yesterday wasn't just an ''off day'' for leeds, they come up against a bloody good team.
Other teams wouldn't quite have been clinical enough to finish leeds off, they wouldn't quite have had the last ditch defence to prevent leeds putting points on.

| The problem with the offload game is that when you come up against a well disciplined defensive side you finish up going backwards. It's the Brian Smith v Craig Bellamy school of coaching, and generally the latter comes out with the win.

| We might offload the ball a lot but i must say often of late it has been to a player stood still simply for the sake of the offload.
It would be interesting to see a stat of the number of "positive" offloads

| We had Paul 'brainfart offload' Rauhihi, that must have reduced our tally by about 30 a game.

By well disciplined are you talking about the blatent holding down in the tackle or after the tackle in SOME teams cases or the well disciplined defence that warrington showed yesterday?

| It doesn't matter - if your major gameplan is based around off the cuff play reliant on offloads, you won't break down a good defence.

| Warrington use off loads very well.
They look to go forward off of them, and tire the opponents pack. they then go expansive using fast accurate passing and great running lines.
Great when in comes off, a little wasteful of possession when it doesn't.
We are getting better and better at it tho.
