Not on his own, is he. Eight carries from your most experienced forward over the course of the game?

They show how soft he is in the collision. Legs go to jelly when someone 2 foot shorter and three stone lighter dares touch him.
Softcock.

| I've always been happy with Kirke given his role in the squad but he has been poor this year and has had minimal impact on games so far, maybe he is struggling with the extra workload and responsibility with the injury's.
Hopefully he will improve when Peacock and Eastwood are back and he gets back to playing 30 mins a week etc.

When Peacock and Eastwood are back I hope he goes back to fookin York tbh.
What is he bringing to the team that someone like Worral or Manning Wouldn't, Clarkson even?

Agree, Kirke wont get anywhere near the squad when JP and Eastwood are back and quite frankly I would rather see Pitts and Manning above him next year.

I should do. He reminds me of me. He consider the ruck a place to have a breather and take a few plays off and doesn't like hte rough stuff.
Did I tell you I took the out of him in the bar at Harelquins one year for wearing tights? Would I have done that to Barrie Mac or Jamie Peacock? No way Jose.

He's a great member of the squad, and a key part of the 17 on each of the last 3 GF wins. You shouldn't write him off in favour of an unproven antipodean.
Sorry to go all G1 on you like

I don't think Kirke's input in last years GF was that 'key' TBH.
Kirke got back into the reckoning after the ousting of JT in '07. When he came back from injury. He offered a safe pair of hands and was a steadying influence. Didn't drop much ball, good tackler, attracting a few defenders when on the ball and looked for a quick PTB. In short he was a coaches pick for those reasons. He wouldn't win a game but he sure as hell would be steady enough to not come up with the big error or blunder.
That was fine with me and his selections in the last 3 GF show this.
BUT this season his performance hasn't been there and his work ethic is off the pace. He seems to put the same stint in regardless of whether he's on the pitch 25m or 45m. He has needed to step up a level this season but has failed to do so. He's a big unit and is towing out there with the added game time he's having to do. But rather than relishing the opportunity he's letting it overcome him.
For me I always judge on form. And Ambler is doing Kirke's job better than Kirke!! He's the steadying influence that Kirke once was over the last few games.

| This question sums Kirke up at present:
Is he an attacking prop or defensive prop???
If your answer is 'errrrm' then that speaks volumes!!!!
(the actual answer is neither!!!)

Don't let me little dig at G1 hide my feelings on this season's Kirke. He's been gash whenever I've seen him.

| Kirke is a road block in our attacking line. Everytime the ball comes to him he just dies with the ball and the attack stops. He has no offload game, he's not that mobile for a back rower, and for his size he doesn't punch his weight in attack or defence. In a fully fit 17, he shouldn't be in it IMO.

Well using similar sentiments to G1 and Buderus, Eastwood has been injury prone and not proved anything at Leeds in his 18months at the club, so why would we dispose with a 3 times GF winning forward.

On a personal note - 'man padding' is just a frustration as it makes the 'reach around' that little bit trickier.
