| It would be nice to think that tonights game would be the last for Ryan Hudson in a Cas shirt. The club had to bring on both Milner and Clarke earlier this season because of Hudson's inability to get through a game with the consistancy that he had shown in the past.
Tonight he was nothing short of inept. He gave away three penalties on the trot in the 1st half for off-side that ended with him unable to bend his back to make a tackle on his own line and a try was scored.
He struggles to get round the park and although I was more than pleased on his return to the club, I'm afraid his £100k salary would be better off being carved up to ensure that three of four of our younger players such as Clarke and Milner are paid what they deserve.

| I'd rather it be McGoldrick's last game - complete and utter liability yet somehow loved by the fans.
Mathers can go at the end of the year too for me, again another player fans love for some reason.
Gentle needs to get rid of a good 2-3 players and bring in 6 to take this team to the next level. Keeping the likes of Hudson, McGoldrick & Mathers is accepting mediocrity.

| OK were did you get your info that hudson gets £100k a year? As for pionting the fingure at players I cant pick one from the wakey match that had a fantastic game.To let a side bottom of the league put 30 points past you is not acceptable. All the talk from Rangi to be honest didnt live up to much and I still am not sure we are gonna make the play offs (we give away far too many pens and are simply not good enough to match the top teams no matter how hard I try and convince myself we are) We should have been top 6 this season but have lost games to some of the worst teams in the league because of pens and sloppy tackles.
Get off pointing the finger at one player and have a look over 80 mins at the full team none of them are perfect and the £20 I spent at the Leeds match should have stayed in my pocket and hudson wasnt even playing. (100k yeah right)

| Having been at the game, I'm now home and just in the process of watching it through again on tv. The spirit and attitude of the players in the first half was appauling! In fact there just wasn't any team spirit or communication between the players at all. Really really not nice to see at all, and put at least 80% of those on the pitch in a poor light!
In regards to Hudson, it's an absolute joke that he used to be a partner in a personal fitness business and he no longer offers value for money. Not just this game, but so far this season he's had very little to offer...so, Yes definitely gone beyond his sell by date, and time to go!

| What rubbish some people spout on here, Ryan may not have had his best game in a Cas shirt at Wakey, but the same can be said of a lot of other players. It's no secret that a number of player have been turning out for us, who should not be playing at the moment, due to injuries and Ryan is a case in point. I wish people would stop singling players out when it was more or less the whole team that under performed. Hopefully the two weeks off will help the injured players who have been playing busted, get back to something like and at least a couple of the guys missing will be able to return to boost our play off hopes.
We need the likes of Jacko, Fozzy and Arundel back for the last couple of games, to get us the play off place we surely deserve.

It is impossible to give a constructive review of every player under just one post, hence the focus. However, much of the comments about Hudson are not just about the Wakey game, they are more a generalisation of where he is in his career in terms of performances and overall fitness.
Even when he re-joined us, his match fitness was an issue. For his rumoured salary, to barely get 40 mins out of the guy in an 80 minute game at his modest skill level, isn't great value for money. I very much doubt that there is any other SL team who would give him a squad shirt or the type of deal which Cas did. Don't get me wrong, he has had his moments for Cas however it's now time to put him out to pasture.

| Regarding Hudson I have to agree that his second spell with us has fallen well short of expectation but if, as I seem to recall, he still has a year on his contract I wonder whether paying him off early represents the best value for money. Can he still offer something as a back-up utilty forward (surely lower risk than Fozzard was when he signed last year)..he's high on commitment, his workrate ain't bad and over the past few weeks he must be leading our lamentable off-load table.
As for Mathers the criticism is totally out of proportion to his contribution over the season. Saturday was typical of his ability to excite and frustrate in equal measure. Sure he rushed out of the line on one occasion and nearly cost us a try but other times it was his willingness to get in the attackers face which closed off threatening movements. Okay he 'bombed' a try when he lost the ball over the line but credit Tongia with a great tackle/strip and how well did he do to get over the line. He was simply our most incisive back and IMO our attacking line is immeasurably more dangerous/unpredictable when Rangi and Richie are involved. I can't agree that we have so much quality/experience/versatility that dispensing with him is even an option. Indeed with a bit more support from the fans I'm sure he would overcome his recent crisis of confidence and return to the outstanding form he showed early season.

| I like Hudson, he hasn't got the pace for sure but he has a brain and he does the one thing that Cas lack - BACKS UP.
Not only that, we missed him against Leeds in the CC when he went off the field and it's no surprise we improved when he returned. His work ethic is second to none and whilst the growth of Milner and Clark is commendable, I still think they are very much raw.
