| Can anyone please explain to me why after 8 games into the season the league table has got rid of points difference and now have a percentage system in place. The SL league table is still using points difference. Why has this been done? Who authorised and for what purpose? Thanks to anyone who knows.

Every table I've seen has points difference.

I've just had a look but the website is down. Perhaps they're rectifying the mistake? Lol!

| It's back up and running now and there is indeed a percentage system. Very strange.

This is a good question, I think I have the answer but I suspect there's also an error on the RFL website.
Looking at the RFL Operational Rules website, points difference remains the first tie breaker if teams end the season on the same number of points, but if they also have the same points difference (unlikely but clearly possible) the next tiebreaker is something they call "points percentage".
https://www.rugby-league.com/flipbooks/ ... .html#p=54
This is calculated by dividing the number of points scored by a club by the number of points it concedes, then multiplying by 100. So for example Halifax have scored 192, conceded 198, 192/198 =0.9696 multipled by 100 = a "points percentage" of 96.9696 (or 96.97 rounded up).
However, in that table they seem to have made an error and published the points percentage column twice, and omitted the points difference column which should be under "DIFF" (eg -6 for Halifax), so it's very understandable why it has puzzled people!
