| Paul Cullen! I do not rate the guy to be honest. Talks a good game but hardly got Warrington anywhere despite the players and cash at his disposal. Be interesting to see what the Chemic fans think

| Took wire from relegation fodder to an established top six side, since his departure they have gone backwards again IMO.
He'll do for me and has that key 'media' prescense to boot.

| But considering he has a lot of money to play with in comparison to Wakey and Quins and has brought in Internationals like Johns, King, Morley, Anderson Brothers, Gleeson etc I feel they underachieved.
I also think he talks a lot when on Sky but doesnt sound that impressive for me. Phil Clarke for me comes a cross a lot better in explaining things.
However wish him well

| Thats good news for us,never rated the guy poor coach just ask the wire fans.Would have been worried if they had got Neil Kelly though.Think Leighs youngsters will still be a top 4 side, with Toulose up there when the aussies arrive.Fax,Barrow,Widnes and Leigh the top 4.

| Hopefully he can take the "Underachievers" tag to Widnes. Spend a load of someone elses money and show no return for it.

| We should remember that Paul Cullen took over, at a similar time, to Tony Anderson taking over here. It seems rather harsh to call him a poor coach. He did okay for Warrington but eventually reached the point where he could take them no further. That doesn't mean he won't be very capable at this level.

| Biggest problem cullen had at wire was that he couldnt control the partyboy ethos that was eroding the club from the inside - something blobby lowes couldnt rectify.

| spent a fortune on top players, probaly more than any other coach in S.L. with no result did ok at haven but was comparing him to Kelly who has won 2 grand finals with Dewsbury and Widnes both in the bottom half of the league when he took over.Think he will find it hard with an ageing side.

That is exactly my worry.
When a new coach comes into a club the players want to impress to keep their first team selection and Widnes's second game under a new coach is.....
It will be interesting to watch them on Sky this Thursday against Toulouse to see how both teams fair...

| All the players who played under Cullen seemed to get worse under his leadership .... Rahihi and Morley in particular. To me he always seemed to have that blank clueless expression and did beggar all at Warrington, other than make decent players lazy and cr*p. He should stick to punditry.

| If he gets off to a slow start it'll be interesting how long it is until the widnes fans get on his back with him having spent most of his career at warrington.

| Cullen has stated he wants to get Widnes back into super league but does this mean that he got it wrong about Celtic Crusaders being a good idea ?
hindsight is a wonderful thing.....if only he knew Widnes job was coming up!!!!!

| I love how the mighty have fallen. Whilst at Warrington he was a passionate supporter for getting rid of P&R and making SL a 'closed shop'.
Now the only job he can get is in a division he can't progress from for 3 years!!
Oh the irony is hialrious!

| I just struggle to listen to him on Sky as either he points out the bleeding obvious or goes off and talks a load of gibberish for 5 minutes. Maybe he is a good coach but has problems communicating what he exactly means and why Wire failed to do better. Will be interesting to see how the likes of Webster, Smith and the leaders at Widnes respond to him and if they can understand what he exactly wants. I still put Widnes as Favs to win the Rail Cup and League as they are a Full Time team and they have time to pull the problems they have around. Fax are still 2nd or 3rd Favs for me for various reasons-thats nothing against the Players we have or the Coaching staff-just rather concerned we have no reserves!

| I think Cullen is a great asset to the British game and hope he does reasonably well at Widnes behind a successful Halifax side.
More British coach's should be employed by clubs, he was a tough uncompromising player and I think he's a coach who thinks about the modern game.
