Lets try to steer clear of another debate about Gareth Moore, he's back at Leeds now and clearly didn't cut the mustard, otherwise he's have started at Hunslet...
As for Matt James, Sensible move by Fax to keep the relationship with the Bulls Sweet, He'll be back soon by the sounds of it so no need to panic, as long as we win one of the next 2 games we're through to the knockouts.

| I kind of expected James tp be called back given the injuries to Langley and Solomona, sort of the benefits of having such a good strength in depth, it gives Wrenchy a run out and could also give much needed match fitness for those needing to get fit before the league season like Wilson and Cherryholme.

| The little I know is this.
He was back at Headingley having lunch with some of the first team yesterday.
When asked by a number of players and staff why he was back, he just said that Leeds had told Halifax he was returning and that it was pointless him being there if he was going to be sat in the stands, and would do his development no good at all.
There were No fights, no taking bat and ball home, not going to another club.
I was reading the comments yesterday aimed at him which I think are grossly unfair and inaccurate.
he did want to play thats why he went there, I think if you had seen a bit more of him on the pitch, you would probably be up in arms about it rather than slaughtering the lad.

I presume you are talking about Moore rather than James (the post title).
If that is so, I agree with you.
What little I saw of him i liked. He looked pacey, had a good eye for players around him and could kick a good goal. for me a bl00dy good all round half back and he would probably played himself into the first team had he been given time. That said we have an abundance of half backs and NO second team for them to play in, when they are not playing first team rugby, so perhaps his wages could be better spent elsewhere.
Good luck to him in the future

| Plus, if we had tried to keep him until May as the deal stated, would he want to play for us under those terms? Hope he gets some good Super League games, but doesn't play too well!!

Not sure how long they intended us to have him anyway-

Quote "It was always our intention to put Matt out loan for the first part of the year at Halifax but he's really knuckled down here in pre-season, is in good condition and has had a great attitude. With the fact we've got a couple injuries too, I had no hesitation in bringing him straight back"'"
No mention that we've done them a favour by agreeing to let him be recalled early.

Billings is a quota player and we won't get rid of Black. Never saw Muir play but he only played once so that tells it's own story.
Try again

Somehow, I don't think Calland is as shallow as that.

| Every coach has his friends.
People he thinks he can rely on.
Look at Mercer and all his mates from Leeds.
Malcolm Reilly and all the Cas lads.
It's a fact of life.

Billings was trying to get off quota, but it got held up by red tape which is why he eventually left.
If he got off quota I'm not sure he'd be back though as he is a Hooker first and foremost and we're not short of options at 9.

Wrong.
This is what happened, as I posted back in June:
Quote ="Tortured Soul"These are the facts concerning Janan and his de-registration:
Janan told the club that he had applied for a British passport and had sent off the fee of £750 along with his current passport in February. However, this was, apparently, not the case. It would seem that, as I understand it, that Janan was waiting and hoping that the deal for Ben Black would not go through as Adrian Vowles didn't want BB to come over. But, as has come to pass, Ben has landed and played for Fax. So, when the deal for BB went through, it seems that the club were getting impatient with Janan's passport saga and offered to help in any way possible. After being pressured into revealing the status of his application, it appears that he had made his application when the deal for BB was finalised using an agency in Rochdale, (who have been above board with his application), to apply for 'Indefinite Leave To Stay' as he had been resident in this country for five years.
However, this residency passport/visa/whatever does not allow for him to come off the quota. For this, he must either have been resident in the UK for ten years or have a parent who is British. Janan has neither. He has a grandparent who is British, but this unfortunately does not count. If he had a grandparent that had a nationality of certain European countries, (I know that Holland is one), then they would allow him to come off quota if he gained a passport from that country because of Free Trade within the European Community. The grandparent rule only works, as well, in the case of playing for a nation different from your birth, (Gibbo playing for Wales for example).
To finish, it looks like Janan has been naive, and has not been completely up front with Halifax RLFC in this matter, and this has led to his release.'"

| Nah its ok, I didn't read that at the time and didn't know, Always good to be enlightened on the subject, I'd always believed what I posted was correct as that was what was generally said at the time, by missing the actual details I never knew.

That as just a misunderstanding. They were only naked in the shower together becase the others had already left, and Lawford was picking up the soap off the floor.
Stop it with the rumours!
