It's that time of year again,Used to get slated on the other forum for this by a certain individual but i don't care



Player of The Year:Andrew Henderson by a Matt Calland country mile been superb and allround inspiration to the team,closely followed by Mitch Stringer who's been very consistent and always lead from the front,Cant remember him having a bad game and in joint 3rd place Simon Brown and Alex Rowe,Rowes impact off the bench has been awesome and Brown has kicked and directed the team very well.

Most Improved player:Joe Hirst,Particulary at the star of the season he was playing superb rugby,Scoring tries and very versatile,Had a cracking season.

Young Player:Corey Hanson,somthing like 10 tries in 13 or 14 games,Nice to see a Sheffielder in the team and doing himself justice,Must be hard after being messed around by the dual reg tampax brigade,A star in the making.

Special mentions to QLT who's had a great 1st season and off course the big bear Menzie,We all love Menzie

Can't argue with that

Probably the most difficult year to choose as this has been the best ever solid show as a whole unit since the reforming of the club.

Alex Rowe Great impact every time he comes on
Andrew Henderson Tremendous workload, especially the number of tackles he gets through.
Joe Hirst Most improved player

Hardest worker The physio.....Mick Heys?
Most underrated player Dane Mc when he's played forward he's been great and taken far too much stick really.

Up and coming young player Sam Scott
I just don't consider Corey or Simon Brown Young anymore - I mean they are but are part of the furniture and seem to have been around for ages.

Best Try Vinny's vs Fev takes some beating
Best home game Has to be Hunslet - we could have got 100 points that day
Best away game The Toulouse annual party and everything that went off & Dewsbury because that's where the Depeche Mode kicked off.

Lowlight Not playing Toulouse next year/maybe having to play Crusaders/Red and GOLD.... not taking off as well as it should have. Losing Misi

Highlights for 2012 Bramall Lane getting a good World Cup game or 2, Eagles signing Billy Slater.

Best Tackle Menzie (according to those who've seen him in the showers!!)
Luckiest Supporter HL who has won most Golden Gambles during the season. I think he failed vs Fev because we couldn't hear the numbers.

Just because someone isn't mentioned above it doesn't mean that as supporters we aren't grateful for everyone's effort. It's been a great season and I cannot emphasise enough how much of a team effort it's been.

Thanks to the people (The Hillsbra Crew?) who organised the kit launch do and worked hard in raising the profile of the club. There have been numerous articles in the Star showing the players out and about

I'd add Peter Green to that.

Menzie almost hospitalising Robbie Paul-Hunter-Paul at Leigh in the NRC
Menzie commandeering a stewardess trolley somewhere over northern France and serving everybody ice.
Menzie stealing HL's MP3 player and HL making no attempt to get it back out of fear.

Champagne moment: Has to be one of Menzie's hits at home to Barrow. He made three players go off that night IIRC.

Supporters Club Player of the Year will be awarded despite us not doing a lot this year. (There are lots of reasons for that, too many to explain) However we will be hopefully running a 2012 season launch event. Im going to be starting the planning of that soon. Weve decided whos getting it.

Me and HL should be awarded the prize for getting 'Just can't get enough' going!

They've forgotten how to bat this week as well.

Not really an award but....a thanks to ESO senior who after every game has done a great job in the suite after the game.

I know this was probably a strictly tongue in cheek moment but I don't think that Menzie (admittedly accidentally) smashing heads with RHP and KO'ing him leading to Robbie needing serious operations on his spine and missing months of rugby should be trivialised or applauded as a 'champagne' moment. Menzie did nothing wrong but it was a sickening injury.

As i say, I know this wasn't meant in a nasty way AT ALL. But the incident did have long lasting consequences to Robbie and led to him having to have discs removed from his spine.

No offence caused at all pal, I assume you just saw the massive collision and didn't know the full extent of the injury. In your post you actually said 'almost hospitalised' when in fact he WAS hospitalised for a few days.

As I say though no offence at all I know your all a good lot on here!

Yeah cheers for the backing. I've never seen us beat Widnes, in 11 attempts!

I've never seen us (Leigh) lose to widnes in the last 8 attempts so maybe my support will change your fortunes for the better
