Im sorry higgyforlife but it annoys me this, the whole point of having a under 18's side is so that they are ready to take the step up to the open age first team, if the under 18's coach wont let you use the under 18's players he should be spoken too, the highest level at higgy is the first team so players are supposed to be called up to that team.
its like a 16 yr old playing academy rugby at oldham then the first team calling him up and the academy coach saying no you cant use him, im pretty sure he would be collecting his p45 up instantly !!!
you should be having serious words with that coach its not good for anyone !"!"!

no one gives a about us now, our coach turns up 1/2 times per month due to bein a policeman plus no one else will coach us in oldham its getting to the point were we are gonna fold, .

EVEN saddleworth,st annes and waterhead 2nd teams are struggling to get players it just seems one one cares about rugby down here anymore.

We have told our chairman to have a word with the under 18s coach but like i said one one gives a SHIT!!!!!!

Think its gonna be a matter of makin the best with what u have this year higgy, HFH is right tho bud as long as u have a core group of lads that do give a then u will be ok, might be a case dropping down, consolidate this year and bring the young through nxt year, but its at times like this ur young lads need to see the likes of yourself biggin the place up, glass has always gotta look half full to the young lads. Chin up pal.

Correct. If the open age team folds then the u18 lads who want to play rugby in a year will have to look for another club.

I was lucky enough not ot be needed as we had enough for our 1st and 2nd teams. I was bringing the water on and I was bloody goot at it aswell.
I was planning on not playing this season but got roped in for first game as we were short. Dont really get time to train with looking after my lad and my partners daft shifts. Starting to get itchy feet now though so you may get to see my silky skills in sunny Widnes in December.

looks like its gonna be at Rabbit Hills pal...the kids games got moved from the clubhouse/park last weekend cos the pitch was under water and its not stopped raining since...we trained up at rabbit hills tonite and pitch is holding up well apart from bottom corner which is a bit soft and only 1 puddle that i counted so we should be on regardless of what the weather does between now and saturday

As I recall the pitch on rh was in decent nik when we played u in January, hopefully we will be on!

Rabbit Hills drains brilliantly...if you look off to the back of it you can see the difference between the 'hills' and the Irwell valley below. the water just does straight through...

Just got to hope no travellers pitch up on there as used to happen when I was at the old Langworthy club!

haha i remember that well. had to ask them to move out of the in-goal area so we could play. fair play they did move and by some miracle there was not sh*te on the pitch!!

Rabbit Hills has cracking pitches that hold up well pretty well most of the year. Lets hope Salford Council keep there hands off. Heard they want to turn them in to footie pitches.

Langworthy 36 - 22 Spring View....another good performance by us and in the end was a fair result, despite leading 10-0 early on we pressed the self destruct button again and had to chase the game as spring view took the lead on a couple of occasions, had to overcome a sin binning in second half as well, was all square at 22 all with 15 to go but our fitness saw us through, we just need to start being more consistant and killing teams off when we have the chance rather than sitting back and accepting what we've got...fair do's to spring view players for taking defeat well

Well done langworthy, fair result in the end, much improvement needed from us....

Shocking effort from us boys in the first half against Heysham, but won the second half which shows good signs about our fitness.

Went up to Heysham with a scratch side again, I am getting ed off with the lack of commitment from some lads when travelling is involved, I can guarantee that we will have 25 to choose from next week

Anyway, thats all 3 cumbria trips done for the season, roll on a home game next week, think we have got SV at home

Heysham seem to do that to teams at home, they set off like a house on fire then fade in the second half.

Just for the record Morecambe is in Lancashire not Cumbria. You can keep them and all the s that live there, we dont want them thanks.
