I've posted this on the Hull board, just as relevant here too...
As our season is over & there's just one domestic game left this Saturday, it's time to look forward to the World Cup and the three games being played in the city.
I thought it worth starting a thread on The Kumuls as they'll be playing two games here - hopefully get the awareness & the interest up.
On Friday their coach Adrian Lam announced his initial training squad for the WC:
www.rlwc2013.com/rugby-league-wo ... n-on-squad
"The Kumuls will not be short of options at hooker, with Penrith's James Segeyaro and Wakefield' Paul Aiton named in the squad, while Huddersfield's Jason Chan, and NRL stars David Mead and Neville Costigan will also will also play a key role for the side at RLWC2013."
- Mal Meninga is also part of their staff.
Squad: Josiah Abavu, Paul Aiton, Dion Aiye, Wellington Albert, Ase Boas, Joe Uno, Jason Chan, Neville Costigan, Israel Eliab, Richard Kambo, Roger Laka, David Loko, Enoch Maki, Ln Marabe, Nene McDonald, David Mead, Mark Mexico, Jessie-Joe Nandye, Sebastien Pandia, Francis Paniu, James Segeyaro, Petero Sunivalu, Jason Tali, Ray Thompson, Charlie Wabo, Adex Wera, Menzie Yere.
They played the Australian Prime Ministers XIII in PNG today, losing 50-10 against a strong Australian side.
www.abc.net.au/news/2013-09-29/a ... ii/4987778
Their games are both at Craven Park and should be good contests:
- vs France (Sunday 27th Oct, 4pm)
- vs Samoa (Monday 4th Nov, 8pm)

[size=85Hopefully, this doesn't descend into a thread on WC venues/attendances & apathy towards the tournament - we've had that already [/size

| Already got tickets (they landed earlier this week) for both PNG games at MS3CP. Really looking forward to seeing them smash the French.
If the PNG mascot looks a tad familiar, that's cos he is.

I would imagine so aslong as it's not sold out, which I doubt it will be. Can't see them turning down fans/money

Yep, tickets can be bought online here;
www.rlwc2013.com/
And the code for donations to The Stanley Gene Foundation is SGF, as told by the nice man who posted this;
Quote ="kevoss"Rugby League World Cup 2013 (RLWC2013) is coming and you have an opportunity to buy tickets to one of the biggest sporting events in the UK this year, and to make a huge difference to children in Papua New Guinea (PNG) as the Rugby Football League works in conjunction with the Stanley Gene Foundation to help change lives.
On Sunday 27 October, Hull will host its very first RLWC2013 game as PNG take on France at the home of Hull Kingston Rovers – MS3 Craven Park, kick off at 4.00pm.
The same venue also stages the game between PNG and Samoa on Monday 4 November, kick off at 8.00pm.
Hull is a hotbed of rugby league, with some very strong links to PNG. None more so than being the adopted city of former PNG rugby league star and ex-Hull Kingston Rovers & Hull FC player Stanley Gene.
Stanley recognises the invaluable contribution rugby league and Hull has made to his life in the UK, so much so that he’s set up his own foundation to help people back home in his native PNG.
The Stanley Gene Foundation is committed to reaching the unreachable communities of PNG and educating young Papua New Guineans in order to give them the tools to make a better future for themselves.
RLWC2013 has witnessed the work of the Stanley Gene Foundation and the results they’re achieving and they have very kindly created Hull’s own special promotional code for both of the games at MS3 Craven Park.
The code is SGF.
For each ticket purchased for the games at MS3 Craven Park using code SGF, RLWC2013 will donate £5.00 to the foundation.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.rlwc2013.com/ or by calling the ticket hotline 0844 847 2013 – but remember to use or quote the code SGF.
Thank you for your support.
Kind regards
The Stanley Gene Foundation'"

| Anyone still looking to buy tickets should look to use the 50Days code which is still working. Might help stretch the budget to take in 1 or all 3 games in Hull.
