Imo silly suggestion. We should play the strongest side possible, I for one would love to see a really good CC run this year. Could you imagine the uproar if he wasn't played, and we lost?

We are amongst a group of clubs who, [uIF[/u they play to their potential, have a chance of at least reaching Wembley. Given that one of Saints or Leeds will go out this weekend it leaves a final spot up for grabs.

Tell that to the players of these clubs, some of who might not get too many chances to play in a Wembley final. I would love us to get to the final at the new national stadium and have a great weekend in the smoke.

You should definately be looking to go as far as possible in the CC. With only 2 bits of silverware up for grabs (apart from the hubcab) it would be foolish not to I think most teams in SL are in with a good shout of at least reaching the final this season.

The Challenge Cup represents our best chance for silverware this year.

A top 8 position in the league will help towards the next round of franchising so for me at least a top 8 finish is vital (obviously higher if we can).

If we can approach the next round of franchising with consistant top 8 finishes and a Challenge Cup final (or win

) in the last couple of years I think it will be a big plus point (even though CC performances are not strictly part of the franchising criteria).

In addition, Celtic are improving week on week, I don't expect the kind of easy victory we had against them last time. So, no Dobson should not be rested, next week is one of the most important games of the season for us and we cannot afford to fall at the first hurdle.

What yesterdays performance made me realise more than ever is how important he is to us this season. He totally ran the show yesterday, probably his best performance in a Rovers shirt (missed the Wigan game last season due to hols)! He was immense and I wonder who would step into his shoes if he got injured like Webbo did last season (hope I'm not tempting fate!). Do we have another good enough recognised scrum-half in the reserves? I think probably not, just make-shift ones who I am sure will do a job but nothing like IMO
