| Rumour has it - Widnes were prepared to offer him big bucks so he held out at Rovers turning a contract down but when Widnes were not offered a licence he came back and asked if the offer was still there. By then the chance was gone and so Cas snapped him up.
You have a good player there who is ambitious and I much prefere to see playing back row although he's still a good hooker. His chances to be a no.1 hooker will be limited anywhere but he looks like an old school type hooker and has years ahead of him to mature and become that first choice he really wants to be.
Good luck to him at Cas he's a good bloke and certainly a SL standard player.

We had him at Doncaster a few years ago when Singe was coach and he was the star of the Academy team and made a few first team appearances.
Would have liked him back when he became surplus at HKR but it wasn't to be. Always felt he had the ability to be a decent loose forward.

Shows what you know then Gekko doesnt it, he played back row in his first SL appearance, he was played in the back row of our academy most of the time and always played well there.
So this nonsense you talk of...where?!

Yet played all his career elswhere at hooker
Cannot beleive you seriously think he's a back rower. Looks like the best think he did was get away from Rovers
The fact he has had to play back row for Rovers says more about the coaching than anything else. The kid is an out and out hooker end of.

Yeah, I heard a similar story. Shame because he was getting plenty of game time (and at hooker ) at Rovers and despite what some people predicted, looked every bit a SL player.
Can't blame the kid for wanting to get what he can, just think the club were looking for a bit more commitment.

| So your calling Justin Morgan a fool??? He played Kirk in the back row on more than one successful occasion, he's got the build to play anywhere, rugby league now is about athleticism not every hooker has to look like Terry Newton or Kieron Cunningham!
Ben Cockayne played prop the other week against Leeds, he doesnt have the build but he has the ability to drive the ball in at speed and make the opposition work to tackle him.
James Roby is regularly played at loose man, a player who's build you obviously think is for only that of a hooker?!
Grow up and stop making yourself look stupid, Kirk has played in numerous positions and plays very well in the second row and lock positions somewhere I think he would benefit playing more in due to his good attacking angled runs and his work rate in defence.

I dont care, he aint a second row and he would tell you that himself.
You will be telling us that Fitzhenry is a hooker and Rhys Lovegrove is a centre/prop/full back/second row/winger/half next

If he had persisted in playing him the back row he would have been a fool. But he realised he was a hooker and played him there.

Just remind me who won that game.

Roby is different class and playes in a team with quality in every position.

Players can play out of position from time to time and i have no problem with that, but to say Kirk is a better back rower than hooker shows how stupid you really are and thats the end of it.

| Kirk played half of his games at 2nd row in the reserves, still think he's a better hooker but saying that he had his best game for the club in the 2nd row in the CC against Hudds last year imo.
Pleased to see him doing well at Cas.

Considering all the FACTS you cant exactly call someone stupid for having an opinion!
In my opinion your a total pillock but I dont actually know much about you do I so I may be wrong and your actually much worse than you come accross on here!!!
The reason I feel he could be a better back rower is that his distribution from the ground isn't as snappy as other Super League class hookers yet his line running and upper body strength make him ideal to play at loose man or an attacking second rower.
I might not be a top coach but I do actually have a coaching badge in Rugby League so I cant be that stupid! Now trott on.

Having a badge means you aren't stupid then does it
Level 1 takes about an hour and a half , reckon you could buy the badge on e bay for a couple of quid anyway. I have held a coaching badge for roughly 15 years so I guess that makes my dad bigger than your dad

Thank god you didn't coach the likes of Greg Inglis, Isreal Falou or Jamie Lyon, you'd have had them playing prop
