We totally dominated them physically during the the first 20 when both teams were strong and it was also noticeable when both teams made some substitutions in the middle of the first half when Green and Cox really lead the way for our young players.

Keeting was rock solid in defence and his short kicking game was really consistent with great technique. We bombed a few tries but it's to be expected when it's the first hit out in wet conditions other wise we would have been out of sight by half-time.

Our young players really came out to compete in the second-half with Robinson, Beharrell and Hallett the ones who stood out for me. The young stocky kid wearing 33 did well in the face of some pretty experienced opposition.

I definitely get the impression Radford is already a man under pressure with him bringing back all his first choice players for the last quarter to ensure he got the result even though they've got a game against Featherstone next week.

Only Greame Horne who had an ice pack on his knee after the game so thankfully we've come out relatively unscathed unlike previous years.

Your pack should go well once they have a few games under their belts. You could tell it was the first game of the season, a few guys were really blowing by the end of their spell.

Basically we found out, unsurprisingly, that your first team are better than our reserves and vice versa. The first 20 minutes when both had strong sides out was a good even contest imo. We made a few errors which allowed you to get field position and get on top, but we dug in and converted our first and only real chance in that spell.

Really impressed with James Green. I played against him growing up. He was always big but I never thought he would make it as a pro so I was quite surprised when I saw he was knocking on the door if the first team a year or so ago. He looks the part though.

Be good to see 2/3 of the young kids that played today get some game time next week against Huddersfield, although it being our last game before the season starts, I can understand if they don't.

I listened on the radio and whenever they mentioned James Green it was only to say how big he was, not how well he was playing lol, ive read on the Hull pages about how well Rankin played but he hardly got a mention on Humberside, just shows how poor commentary can be.

go back 12 months to last seasons pre season match between the two teams, you will see the same reaction from your players after scoring tries, to me it looked like a p!55 take for that!

Enjoyable game. Think both side will have got exactly what they planned out the game. With the weather and it been Rovers 1st game I expected a more scrappier game but what we where treat to was some decent entertaining rugby.
I went primarily to look at our defence but I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of some of our youngsters in the 2nd half. Hoping to see more of James Green and Matty Beharrel during the season. All in all a very positive 1st hit out with the hint of a more settled side next week.
