Especially with Rovers missing Dobson, Gleeson, O'Hara, and Withers ALL certain starters and then Burns 2nd half.

Actually the injury/reshuffle/half back situation was quite even.

One team spent too much time feeling sorry the other got on with it. Hull's injury problems always seem severe because of the sheer amount of time talking about it.

Do you really think a genuine good team would be stuck in 11th place winning 2 games out of 9 and blaming injuries?

The difference is gleeson, ohara n withers are sh@ and not in the same class of who we had out .

Irrespective of their quality (or lack thereof, in your view) they're still first choice players and ate into our depth. From reading your forum Yeaman and Lynch don't seem to be hitting the heights this year and Seymour's issues have been well documented. McDonnell is a decent enough fullback, but Gentle chose to go with 5 backs and leave out Crookes. Holdsworth is good, but so is Dobson. Which leaves Ellis, and fair enough he's a top player, but second row is where you have most depth.
Treating every derby defeat as a freak or aberration, to be excused by injuries or poor refereeing, with a side order of displacement indignation is just denial and that solves nothing. Not that Gentle or your players will buy into it, i'm sure. It doesn't even diminish our enjoyment of the result (or mine at least), possibly the reverse.
