Seeing as that Everton/Tesco deal fell through, and they're apparently in the market to develop more stores around the country - it's an opportunity for them to enter into another joint venture. (ala Warrington/Coventry). Indeed, didn't Allam's KC masterplan include another Tesco's too? The vision is there

I don't get why the club had to have an 8.2million pound stand in the current financial times, why wasn't the board more realistic in terms of what they wanted.

The stand won't cost £8.2M.

The whole development is 8.2 million, the stand incorporated into it is just one part of it.

Is the NHS East Stand development incorporated into that too?
Or is that money now part of the North Stand plan?

In his defence and in the interests of black and white solidarity:

1) I think he means a business case for the stand on its own. This doesn't mean providing a list of costs and drumming fingers on the table as the rather non-obvious training centre location is scrutinised by ERDF. Nor a rather arrogant indignation at a delay in central government loaning you the money, when the council (and therefore Hull taxpayer) are guaranteeing repayments in the event of default. Rovers have tried and failed to get any funding for this other than through utilising links to the council and contriving this strange marriage apparently built on Rovers lurve.

2) He has a point. Rovers have lost £2m odd since promotion. Could have spent £2m less on players and be sitting in the new stand right now for that.

Perhaps, but there have been some pretty poor "investments" that could have been better channelled into improving infrastructure as per franchise commitments. Willie Mason. Automated turnstiles that require, er, manning. Kooga kits that run in the wash and have to be replaced. Too long a contract given to Justin Morgan. Overseas training camps. Few quid there that wouldn't have impacted retention of SL status.

You asking me or telling me? I haven't seen the cost breakdown tbh.
But then, if it was just the stand alone - the local east Hull finest wouldn't benefit from the ... community centre thing that's part of current development.

Being a community club like we are - then surely the way we've gone is best for everyone. As not only are we looking to benefit our supporters with a new stand but the whole local area will benefit as well. The pride of east Hull
