Out of respect to the fans they can either face a increase of more than %20 on their pass or Join club rovers for a fixed price of £60( and a renewal fee next year) and get frozen ticket prices £10 off shirts and web tv ( which other clubs give for free) and if they are in the 1st 2500 they get a half price derby ticket.
It's just a cover up for the massive increase in season pass prices.
respect eh?

Given the financial state of most SL clubs it is clear that clubs need to increase their revenues and control costs. With the franchise point for £4m plus turnover I wouldn't be surprised to see more clubs going down a similar route and charging for things like web tv and the like which are currently given away free as well as above the norm season pass price increases this year and next.
For example, a nominal £10 charge for web tv automatically added to season pass prices brings in £50,000 for every 5000 season passes.
The level of demand for season tickets in the East and West stand suggests that a moderate price increase is sustainable. This is the price we have to pay to see continued success on and off field at the club.

What a superb choice it is that they have gifted you. A month to give them £60 now or pay £260 for a pass next year. A bonus of paying now for a derby ticket benefit that won't actually be realised for 12 months. But the deciding factor must be how closely the club has engaged and consulted with it's supporters in launching this scheme - after all we know that Rovers do this on ALL major decisions because people on here talk of little else.

| I'm sure all Rovers fans, whatever there views on this, want to see the club on a sound financial footing. Rather than raising revenue, the club could look to cut costs. But if they had decided not to offer new contracts to Peter Fox, Michael Dobson and Clint Newton this year (and replaced them cheaply), so the membership benefits could be given out for free, that would have disappointed a lot of fans and the club would be accused of lacking ambition. Morgan might then be minded to find a bigger club. Gates might fall, requiring further cuts, creating a downward spiral.
The board, who have a very good record to date, are trying to be ambitious and maintain progress. There are risks in this, if the core support is alienated, but there are risks in taking no action as well.

page 11 of the above pdf. £260 is the price of a non-members west stand ticket. £221 for the east stand. £210 and £179, respectively with membership.

| but isnt this the correct figure (£221 as an example for east stand pass) if your just buying a season pass as new, no doubt if we renew our season pass before a certain date then we will get a discount off the full price of £221? (like this season) so in fact it wont be as expensive as it looks for existing pass holders?

So the way to increase revenues is to create a 2 tier season pass?
Take the east stand for example. Existing season pass holders will be forced into becoming members or risk the chance of a not being able to keep their pass for the east stand.
A family i know face an increase of either £181 or £240 and considering we are in the middle of a recession its a joke.

Depends how hard they are pushing the membership - my guess is fairly. Remember as well that prices are frozen at 2008 prices for 2010 [iand[/i 2011 if you buy membership. So 2 years of east stand season tickets plus membership, works out as a 16.75% increase. For the West Stand it is a 14.3% increase. Hefty, but remember 2 / 3 years of inflation will account for some of that (5-6%, ~one third of the increase, based on the current CPI of 2.2%. Mrs B; the current RPI, which I suspect will be your preferred measure is -1.1%). In real terms, I estimate, prices are going up 10%, and you are being asked for £60 up front. If you can afford that, I think that you can be fairly confident that the money will be invested back into the club/safeguard its SL future.
Also, if fans buy into being a member (in both senses), then the other benefits (which I think have been dismissed a bit too lightly), can be valuable to both club and support.

You're right, we're in a recession so Rovers should be cutting their prices for the fans! It's not like an economic down turn will effect a Rugby Club is it!
As far as I've read it, the only people being cynical over the Club Rovers thing are a) People who can't afford it and b) Hull FC fans. These people aren't thinking about the club and it's future, just their own financial situation (which is understandable at the minute). This season will be the most successful season we've seen for over a decade so of course season pass prices are going up, as will demand for season passes! At least the club have made a price freeze available as part of the whole Club Rovers thing.
