Despite the incredible pressure Sandercock has been under, he always gives the opposition credit in defeat.

Sadly Gentle hasn't shown such class because like you say, he hasn't mentioned Rovers once in his 4 defeats.

I think the other day though, he was particularly red faced because his pre-planned excuses of having no half-backs spectacularly back-fired after Dobson didn't make it and Burns went off injured.

He's a good defensive coach but his recruitment has been shocking and his attacking structures are non-existent and is now he's staring down the barrel.

I think it is time the board gave Sandercock another three years (at least) & let him get on & do the job he was recruited for, that is to put in place structures & develope the local youth of East yorkshire that will sustain the club into the future. I my opinion that job will take a genaration to reach the levels of Leeds, Saints & Wigan. Any succsess we have in short time is a bonus & we should enjoy it for what it is.

I like Sandercock a lot and really want him to succeed. And we're maybe starting to see signs that he's got us heading gradually in the right direction. But 5 weeks ago he looked close to the exit and April will be a tough month. A year or at most two would be more sensible.

I actually like what Leeds have done, with a rolling contract. Have an agreed pay-off in place in case things go wrong, but it takes away the ticking clock. We have to renew in the not too distant, or, if not, he'd be a bit of a lame duck, serving out time - in which case we might be better making the pay-off anyway.

I'll be the first to admit i've slagged Sandy off before and i'm not saying everything is better cos we won the derby but let's look at the job he's had to do. He constantly gets compared to JM which is totally unfair. JM was given an open cheque book and full use of the salary cap and we did well and progressed considerably but what was Sandy left to work with? Vella, Fisher, Newton, Cockayne all gone we only scraped in to the 8 in 2011. It was a massive rebuilding job we had an ageing squad and he was told to bring the youth on which he has done. If we make the 8 this year he deserves a new deal as that means we have finished above at least 1 club who have spent the full cap and then next year hopefully with a full cap to spend, a new stand, maturing youngsters and 1 or 2 signings we can be looking at the top 6 maybe i'm just an optimist after a derby win but we are playing Wigan with half a team on Monday so let's enjoy it while it lasts!!!!!

To be fair i think ginge is probably right, during last season a couple of friends and myself spoke to Rhys Lovegrove and asked him what he and other players thought about Sandercock.
His reply was in very much in line with what ginge has just commented.
No doubt there will be ups and downs during this season especialy given the fact that we dont have the biggest squad in SL and its a young one at that, but i believe he is steadily taking the club in the right direction especialy in the youth development area.

I'll hold me hand up too, I've slated him in the past, even started the Sandercock out thread, but I recognise that fact he's hard a hard start to his coaching career, injuries to key players, a small squad compared to a lot of others, hopefully help learn from mistakes he's made and keep on improving,

He has done well with what he has had to deal with, when he has had a near enough full strength squad to choose from we have been good, the defence is steadily improving the attack is better than i have seen for a while. In saying that the next few fixtures will test our squad and CS ability as coach playing arguably the top 4/5 clubs. I think Hudge will give him a new deal as changing it just seems like a backward step to square one!

It's great to see so many positives about sandercock there's just sumet about him and I don't mean in that way I think he's a genuinely nice guy ano he's been slated for whinging but gentle has now inherited that, lets see what the next few games bring il be chuffed if he gets another deal, our attack has improved so much it's brill, fan dabby doozie
