Hope you're right Snowy, hate playing against Batley. Even though our record against them has been pretty good over the years, we never play well against them. Batley are a weird side, every season they put in a number of great performances you would never expect them to get, but over the season they just can't do it.

You would hope that the experience of some of the Widnes players will guide us home, but I can see it being a real tough game with only a few points separating the teams by the end.

I expected us to beat Barrow and Whitehaven in previous finals. This time I'm not so confident.

The Bullfrogs dont play atractive rugby,they just tackle you Vikings will have FAR to much speed and ideas for Karl and the Frogs.

The West Yorkshire grit and character just too much for you.

I was cheering Widnes on nearly as much as the commentary team. I suppose on the plus side its a good job that a franchise place is not decided on results on the field.

Ainscough's inability to cope with high kicks has cost them the game.

Was great for the neutral though and nice to see a small town team with local players and coaches with something to celebrate.

One of the attractive things about this competition and this division compared to a few years ago is the eradication of Antipodean journeymen, it makes for a much more traditional feel to things and a more authentic desire.

Have to say I was very impressed with some of the defence from both sides, it compared nicely to a super league basement battle.

Are both Widnes [iand[/i Batley full-time squads now? If that Batley team is part-time they deserve more credit for their fitness and scrambling defence. Superb effort.

Of course, I'm aware Widnes' squad is mostly British and local it's just that Batley have not experienced the success of Widnes in the top tier and this victory is therefore mor meaningful to the team, fans and town.
