I enjoy the visit to Salford anyway, and given the pre season optimism was particularly looking forward to this one. Regardless of their financial issues, really fancied us to make it 2 from 2 and consolidate a strong start. Not at all sure what to expect now, from the team they put out to what we'll serve up. Anyone else going?

I’m going, I enjoy going to Salford and can’t make the game there in a few weeks. I’ve got a feeling they’ll still be under the 1.2m cap! This takeover seems like a right soap opera. We just need to show a reaction this week, another performance like Saturday isn’t acceptable

I know RL isn't football, but takeovers generally take weeks or months to be ratified, so I'm not sure why people don't seem to understand why it hasn't been ratified yet

True, although you'd think proof of funds wouldn't cause too much delay. Unless... I'll wait to see the squad before I decide whether to go. Ours that is, I couldn't give a monkey's about Salford's.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the RFL gave Salford ‘special dispensation’ or some such BS to play their full strength squad because of the BBC nationwide coverage of the first Sts game and the backlash that followed.

On Salford , a rapper friend of Krisnan Inu and a Swiss bank that specialises in investment property. Sounds like a perfectly normal combination to takeover a skint British rugby league club to plough money in to help a community they have never met. I’m sure there is no ulterior motive here.

There’s a lot more to this saga and plenty left to unpick in the coming months. I don’t for one second think Paul King left them with a good deal, he’s well out of his depth, and it’s shown before. The full extent of the mess he’s got them into is yet to be revealed, but I’ve got a feeling it won’t be good. There’s no way random consortiums/swiss bankers invest in clubs they’ve never heard of, in a game/league they know nothing about, then, straight out of the gate, clear 5 million £ in club debt (allegedly). It stinks. The stadium is council-owned, the club barely pulls 3,000 fans, and until three months ago, they had no profit/loss from anything sold within the stadium, meaning they have zero assets. So why would anyone invest so hastily, as Salford claims? It just doesn’t add up. And to reiterate the point, all this has come together just before the club was going into potential administration ..... I feel the RFL are stalling with due diligence as theyve seen something odd as Sir Gregory ParsloeP said above, there's surely no ulterior motive in all of this...
