Morning Folks, Just heard that Kurt Haggerty is signing for you guys today from Blackpool, should be a good signing for you as quite a few Super League teams were looking at him, i think he may have even spent a week training at Wigan not so long ago..

What do you think of the signing?

Pretty solid player is Kurt and i think he spent time on loan at Leigh last year before securing the move to Blackpool. He can cover second row and loose and will be needed if Toa is gone as Varks will be back to the centre position.

I am unsure as we have a few good youngsters doing well from our Academy.I know Haggerty has been getting a few man of the match awards though.Think he was poor for leigh last year?

He was average at Leigh last year, decent squad player, nothing outstanding but that was last year, he could have improved?

Good signing and very good news that Nev is signed up permanent. Not sure im happy with Thompson going the other way on loan, i would stick him in the centre with Gardner due to the loss of Toa.

I'm arguing that point on the TIW. Good player that looked accomplished when he played earlier on in the season. I hope this is just on loan. I think he looks like he could yet be a decent player.

Ive heard a few say at 22 he should have made it in the first team as a regular but he's never been given a good run to see what he can do. He's always been a strong lad who can score for fun. Lets hope he's back soon.

I will be majorly peeved if the Blackpool deal turns into a permanent one and ill let the club know my feelings.

I totally agree mate and i made my case on the widnes site.He is a strong,fast,bullish player.Not been given a chance like Grady and Yates.In my opinion is twice the player yates is to be honest.Yates is 22 and they have given him many chances.Hopefully a loan period for Thompson, otherwise i wont be happy.Anyway not seen this Haggerty play to comment.Will he play on sunday?

Thing is VM... we have a bit of a history of writing players off young. Look at Coyle and Kain who we both had in their early twenties and released. These two players are now valued by both their clubs.
I also don't understand the argument that he needs to kick on? He looked really handy when he played and got a few good tries.

here's hoping haggy number 2 performs, thompson more than deserves a chance he was a real asset when he played earlier this year
